APCOA Parking Charge Notice

I have recently received a Parking Charge Notice from APCOA (Birmingham Airport). I realise this is a grey area, but decided to pay to avoid further hassle. I tried to do this via APCOA,s secure online payment system, which requires me to enter the Charge Notice No., and Vehicle Registration No.. When I did this, a message appeared saying, "No match has been found against our record. Please double check the details entered and try again". I did this several times with the same result. Is it reasonable to assume that APCOA have issued an incorrect notice, and that I can ignore it, even though they have photographic evidence, and similarly ignore any other further correspondence from them

    You what?? 'Grey area??'

No, it's a fake PCN which can be appealed and beaten at POPLA 100% of the time. Why the heck would you start a New Year by paying a scam charge that you don't have to? It's not hassle to do a simple 2 stage appeal which is explained in the forum stickies. We win EVERY TIME and Airport ones are the easiest of all! Most posters realise this pretty quickly, here's another TWO newbies threads from today:

Please read the NEWBIES sticky FAQs thread at the top of the forum (which is linked in the replies that poster has already got). NO-ONE pays these!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You ha had a lucky escape, you are under no obligation what so ever to pay this unlawful fine.
I'm guessing its for stopping in a roadway etc etc.

whilst it may seem daunting reading the newbies thread ( do it anyway) the process is quite simple and these things can be quashed without too much hassle and worry.
