I found that either Black Circles or Tyre Shopper were cheaper than going direct to any garage or tyre fitment company. National Tyre wanted almost £20 more per tyre than Tyre Shopper plus I got cashback from TCB.
I used http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/ to get an opinion on specific models of tyres.

The OP has already purchased the tyres (after shopping around for prices, including from online sellers).

Yesterday they had brand X in stock then sold out so today they are offering brand Y.

Or his price was +vat or + valve etc.

Or as happened when I as a manager of a tyre depot, a different price was given for the same tyre just like the OP says.

Why does no one believe her, it happens, it depends on many factors, there is no fixed price for tyres or exhausts but you all know that
