Just wondering what's the going rate around the country for a hand car wash including a polish / hoover inside. This wasn't a full valet by any means but I was pretty pleased with £8 for the above - was in Luton.

They did a wash, polish and hoover out for £8? They wont be in business long.

Are you sure it wasnt a wash / wax, dry and hoover out?

The local eastern european cash was closest to me does a wash, dry, glass polish (outside), sills, and tyres slicked for £5.

They do a pretty decent job too. I would have a preference to do it myself but i dont always have the hour or so it takes free.

Heaven forbid someone takes their car to a car wash, they must be fat and/or lazy to do so.

    What a knob

Lazy or not they don't like their car very much.

DIY costs very little (except effort) and gtees no scratches

Got to agree, plus it's a good opportunity to get up close and check the bodywork for chips, scratches, or in my case this morning, a small dent where an idiot has clearly opened their car door onto mine in the past week or two

    Knob fetish?
  • How sad, OP asks for price comparisonson car valet and the standard joyless idiots castigate him for not doing the valet himself.
  • I'd never let anyone else wash my car, because no-one has the same attention to details as me. And who wants big scratches all over and swirls, no thanks.

I'd rather spend 3/4 hours detailing my own car, wash, polish, wax. And hoover inside/out.

I'm disabled so can't be bothered doing it myself. As my car is 17 years and 158,000 miles old, they can't put anymore scratches on my car than there already is :rotfl::rotfl:
