£160 for a Freetime recorder is great (reconditioned). Go for it!
  • I have a Sandstorm HD 500gb box from PC World/Curries. It is their own brand and so far i am very happy with it. It was quite a bit cheaper than a Humax and I would definitely recommend it.

i see that normal PVR`s dont rewind , only if you have paused.....is this the same for Humax`s ?

On a Humax and the other two brands of pvr I've owned, you can rewind a programme you are watching, provided that you haven't changed channel meanwhile.

eg Watch BBC1 for 10 minutes. Change briefly to ITV1 for a few seconds. Return to BBC1 for 20 minutes.

In this case you can rewind for the last 20 minutes . Without the channel change, you could have rewound for the whole 30 minutes.

I was hoping to buy a humax managers special freeview box but they dont have any in my budget (£100 or under is what they had pre xmas)

  • I have just ditched Virgin Media M+ for Freesat. They have all the channels i want and need. I only miss the UKTV channels the most. But i am not saving over £15 a month.

OnDemand is good. The adverts are the most annoyong thing but its Free!

Bush is just a brand these days. Save up and get the Humax. No comparison.

We had a Pace and a Digi (something). Neither is made anymore. Bush isn't the brand it was, but has been a cheapie for many many years, so unlikely to be as good as Humax, which is a specialist brand.

Richer Sounds have a Humax pvr at £129.95, but if you agree to take their monthly email, you get a voucher for £10 off, so £109.95.
