What was the outcome of this. I've recently received a letter from this company saying I owe over £400 after I too received medical treatment in Kavos... 3 YEARS AGO!!! I paid my insurance excess and looked over the paper work which seemed fine at the time. Seeing as it was 3 years ago I can't remember who I done my insurance with. These charges seem dodgy to me.
BAJ, did you actually pay yours then? Or have you ignored them? I've just received a letter from Eventus for going to Corfu medical centre in July 2013! I paid my excess but now being charged £350 extra!!0 -

my daughter went on holiday in July last year with a group of friends, to Kavos, Corfu. She stood on some glass and had to have her foot stitched at the local clinic. They charged her 120 euros at the time. She asked if there was anything else to pay and they said no, but this morning we've had a letter from a debt collection agency Eventus Plus Ltd, Po Box 2749, Coulsdon, CR5 1ZQ asking for another £351.69
There is also a 2nd request for £167.81 for another injury that my daughter says wasn't hers. I believe her as she would have told me at the time.
Anybody heard of this company? Does this sound right? is this what usually happens?
Hi Shopholicz did you pay this in the end??? I've just had a letter from Eventus Plus for around 350!! It just seems so dodgy...0 -
Shopaholicz. If you're seriously worried by this letter from Eventus then just refer them to your insurance company and ask them to deal directly with them. But personally I wouldn't even dignify such a bunch of crooks with a reply.
My son was also in Cavos in August of this year and both he and his friend received minor medical treatment. Both were fully insured with a £50 excess, and both have now suddenly received letters from Eventus demanding payment of higher sums, despite having received no communication from Corfu Medical Services. Needless to say, the letter is now in the bin.
It would appear that unscrupulous debt collection agencies make money by buying supposedly unpaid debts from outfits such as CMS, then sending out letters such as this. Unfortunately a percentage of recipients will be frightened enough to pay up.0 -

Hi Carl my son also received a payment demand in the post yesterday. He is not going to pay it, as he paid €156 in July for antibiotics for tonsillitis . They are demanding another £132. He was not invoiced at the time, for this, and still has his receipts. They can take him to small claims court if they wish. It seems very underhand to me. We will wait to see what happens. It is a pity that nobody has followed up with any outcomes from their experiences.0
