Heavens, Jegersmart, I'm not suggesting the OP should be excluded - or those who have substantial investments and want to discuss them. I said: there's a place for that. All are welcome here, as far as I'm concerned. I was responding to the OP's suggestion that savings diaries are irrelevant to this forum by pointing out that they are in fact right in line with the whole purpose of MSE. I think you've misconstrued me0 -
good bank, bad bank is the model for us all0

... no, seriously.)
I think that's a little uncalled for??0 -

Hang out a bit longer on this forum, and you will know that it's not uncalled for, and why :cool:0 -

there was supposed to be an element of self-mockery in it. it's not big to look down on ppl because they're young.
at the same time, some of these threads are genuinely funny. though perhaps i have an over-inclusive sense of humour. (i've laughed out loud before when reading about predictions for the FTSE 100 index.)0 -
OK, I have a ridiculous sense of humour but in this matter I started this thread because was trying to be sensible.
This place is not Facebook.
This place is not a blog.
This place is not an agony column.
This place is not a lonely hearts hangout.
This place is not for care in the community.
It's a place to post sensible questions and answers to sensible problems about savings and investments.
If I want to read about Adrian Mole or Bridget Jones, I can buy the books.
Or if people are really interested in such thins they can go to the Arms or, as I had originally hoped, the admin team could set up an area specifically for such stuff.
I am not saying it is unimportant, I am saying it's not really about savings and investments.
Don't be offended anyone, I'm not saying this to be offensive. I saying it to avoid the clutter - just do a search on the word Diary in the savings and investments forum alone and you will se what I mean.0 -

Surely the sensible thing would be not to open the 'Savings Diary' threads if they are of no interest to you.
Presently on the opening page of this forum there are a couple of savings diary type threads but they are clearly titled as such so no one is being forced to open and read them.
I don't mind them, if I'm on the forum and have time I might have a read or not, it really is not an issue to me either way.Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -

You can't say this with a straight face, read young, dumb and living off mum. After reading it, tell me you feel the same?0 -
OP
This place is not Your house
This place is not your world
You are NOT the boss
You are Incredibly rude
Feel free to make a comment about sub boards but don't insult other posters who write these diaries
The fact you had to start a thread to complain about threads you do not read is just rude! get over yourself
I have found many diaries useful and have just started my own but seeing some of these comments I'll save you the bother of having to skip mine I have already asked for it to be removed
I am sorry for clogging up this ever so serious topic area with my problems
