  • I noticed the lack of windows on one side and the reference to 'basement' rather than ' ground floor' and immediately thought "potential damp", (although having said hat, my aunt and uncle have a partly upside down house built into the side of a hill and have no damp problems at all, so it may be absolutely fine)
I would be looking at how accessible the back garden is, as this would make a difference to how comfortable I would feel with ground floor bedrooms.

I know someone who lives in a similar house and it's not a problem going downstairs to bed instead of upstairs. It's much better to have the light and views on the living level.

I live in a hilly area and quite alot of houses are built into the hills and don't seem to cause problems. Maybe it is a regional thing and if you are used to it it isn't an issue? They have done well to get windows in all the bedrooms, lets face it a bathroom without a window isn't that unusual even in houses not built into hills. As someone said (sorry can't remember who it was) if you strip their stuff out it is a blank canvas, can you picture it with your own stuff in? The garden and views are beautiful. I don't know the area but OP obviously does, if you like the area I think it is worth a look.
