I wouldn't have an issue living in an upside down house. Much better than only being able to see fabulous views from a tiny bedroom window. Probably costs a bit less to heat too.
Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
The basement only has windows for natural light on one side. The bathroom and hallway could be quite dark. As a large part is set into the ground I'd be looking for evidence of damp.0

Brilliant Stratus thank you - i hadn't thought of damp yet.Spreadsheet-obsessed.0

No natural ventilation or light to either the hall or bath/shower rooms. Probably means noisy fans that freeze your whatsits off when you get out of the shower.
Only one loo between four beds downstairs as well.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Is that a gravestone in the garden? :eek:0

If I was sleeping in a basement I'd definitely want to make sure it wasn't prone to flooding!0

A minor point but it would annoy me - there's no external door in the kitchen which means you'd have to cart all your rubbish through the hallway to get to either the front or the back door to put it in the bin - depending on where the bins are kept0
