    Morning everyone

Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x

Now getting light, not raining, but still very wet underfoot, started raining late last night and was raining really heavily for ages, was still going when I went to bed at 1am. Wash x1 now ready to go into TD.

DH up and gone to work.

Dinner last night was a change of plan - checked fridge contents and discovered some sausages, bacon and eggs that all needed using up - so changed the meal plan to a fry up - had to be a bit inventive as there wasn't loads - but we all had enough as found a part bag of hash browns in the freezer and used some bread to do fried bread for the menfolk too. Dinner tonight will be chicken and bacon kievs, chips and beans for the menfolk, I'll be having salmon parcel (the remaining 1 of the box of 2 from the freezer) with a jacket pot and veg. I'm also thinking I will make the meat sauce for the lasagne whilst doing some cooking/baking today - then we can have lasagne, salad/chips/jacket potato tomorrow night and all I'll need to do is to construct it - make the white sauce and put it in the oven - or may just make it up completely and put it in the fridge and just re-heat from there. The menfolk are moaning that there's nothing in the tins - they're right - they are all completely empty - all the xmas goodies have been eaten - I'm really pleased as normally I would have thrown so much food away by now - but this year I simply didn't buy as much - and we still had everything we needed.

Yesterday again was a bit of strange day, couldn't settle - but did get some jobs done, washing, drying and ironing. But wasn't as productive as I could have been - but did sit and look at the finances, and now have a much better idea of where I want to be in 2 months. I will have to be more controlled with the spending - having checked the bank statements I spend "way too much" in "top up" shops just getting 1 or 2 things from the SM that then turns into a £15-£20 shop - this needs to stop - so I need to be more organised and buy everything when I do the main shop and then not go back for anything else or leave a bit in reserve so if I need to buy anything else the money's there and won't be an extra spend. I've found in the past that visiting the butcher and spending up to £100 on meat etc then bagging it all up and freezing it seems to be a much better way - the quality of the meat is very good and in the long run it works out cheaper than the SM. Thinking I may start doing that again.

Today's plans are going to town, visit the bank, food shopping - then home to pack shopping away and do some baking/cooking - seem to have a large stock of dried fruit so will probably make a boiled fruit cake for the tins - the menfolk all love that. Will do some other bits too - then we'll go into the weekend and next week with the tins full and menfolk that are not moaning "there's nothing to eat in this house!"

    Need to crack on now.

    Keep safe and well x

    ¡Hola!
Not been on as really not a lot to say/report. Had a lovely online chat with Molly as she said, and I showed her the pictures of the outfit for our son's wedding in April? just need to decide how to do my hair to go with the fascinator. I need to lose half a stone just to trim the middle a little :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: though at the moment feel starving so it's not started yet :eek: it would be nice if 2014 is better for many of you, and Molly remember NO NO NO:D
Skye also comes up to join us normally at 7 am, then sleeps through until around 9.30a.m.
I did a roast chicken dinner for us last night, with enough mash and veg and chicken for us again today, plus a sandwich or two. I was given a tray of sardines just before I left, so froze them, and will have some of those for lunch today, BBQing them outside, so they do not smell the place out. :o:o. DH isn't into fish that much.
Have you spotted that Aldi are now starting a super 6 meat each week.
We had a rainy day yesterday from late morning onwards, but today is due to be fine until tonight, with light winds and some sun, so only managed a walk with Skye in the morning yesterday, but we did take her on her beach walk the night before.
BB I think DH is right, you need to let him go with you and see the doctor.
((Hugs)) for the none sleepers, and poorlies, I feel quite guilty moaning when I hurt a little, but on the whole not bad for a getting oldie. I used to only do 5-6 hours a night quite happily, but since I was given a small dose muscle relaxant tablet by the Dr I now seem to need 8 hours, even though retired. Wonder if the pain used to wake me up??
Enough waffle. ((Hugs)), Spoons, Positive vibes! all round. Take care everyone. DG

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?

Morning again, thanks for the welcomes.

Molly, hope your dog feels better soon and the trip to the vets goes all right.

Julie, that left over chilli sounds nice, could fancy some of that for breakfast.

Honey, hope you can find some pain relief or get your tablets sorted out soon. That's one of the problems I've got but they say the next step of pain relief is morphine and I don't want to progress to that yet.

I got a few hours sleep then got up to nod in the chair and nurse cups of tea. I think tea does me more good than anything. I'm getting low though cause Ringtons tea man didn't call this week. Got to do a shopping order later so might put some down on that to be on the safe side, can cope with most things life throws but running out of tea would be a disaster. :D

  • Morning all

A really wet miserable day here today, DH is home today so I got him to do the school run I hate going out in heavy rain.

Downstairs housework is done, just got to make the beds, clean the bathroom, hoover up, takes some pictures for some eb@y listings so I can get them on later this eve, cannot go out today as I'm waiting in for the roofers to come and look at my chimney, whenever it rains I have water running down the walls in the bedroom dh says it is the flashing gone (whatever that means) so hopefully they can get it done asap as I cant start decorate ds's room till its all done.

Veg curry and egg fried rice for tea a nice quick meal as ds has to go to get his ears syringed again at 4, with abit of luck the nurse will manage to do them this time.

    Welcome Mrs Bones :)
Molly, hope your dog is ok x

((hugs)) to those that need them x

    Morning all,

I have the TGIFriday feeling but can't think why as the week has been quite pleasant, apart from the problems with getting my injection delivery.

Managed to get the bag of toiletries to Women's Aid - carrying it uphill to the bus stop was hard going but I got there! - and it was all level after that and close to the bus stops.

When I got home I tried to get my head around the Blue Badge renewal. So complicated, it almost seems that you have to be in receipt of some benefit or other to get one now. I looked up the PIP criteria and read all the notes etc. The definitions made a lot more sense then as the meanings of "safely" etc were explained. I must make my appointment today and see what happens.

We went to the supermarket last night, much later than normal but the routine was thrown by the delivery time & needing to eat. Wow, 6p for a bag of sugar snap peas, 8p for a stew pack of chopped veg, 20p for some nectarines and £2.44 for a beef joint! Unfortunately the heavens opened and pelted hailstones on us in the car park but DH insisted on taking the trolley back to get his £1 and was severely pinged on his bald head by the stones. they make them tough in Scotland (or mean ;)).

Well, time to get a wiggle on. Day 2 of Slimming World fun :D.

Best wishes to those struggling with the nasties x

Luxor I think the blue badge changes criteria a bit from council to council but I know I didn't automatically qualify on benefits but in this area now you also have to go to a physical assessment and I gained it on that. So it's worth trying if one would help, don't be put off if you don't have get the relevant benefits for it to be automatically given.

  • Good morning all, blimey another blooming rainy day, really getting rusty joints now:):)
Still its friday and I have history this afternoon which is nice.
Had a sort through my food cupboards and still got lots of stuff to eat before I need any shopping thank goodness.

I have done my menu plan for the next 7 days and as far as I can see I need nothing at all:):):) more cash to go into the holiday fund at the end of the month :):)
29 weeks today we go on holiday :):) my DD told me this morning (anyone would think she looks forward to it :):):))
Right I'm off to make a vat of chunky vegatable soup from past-their best veg from the basket
<<hugs>> to those who are feeling poorly or just tired, january is a miserable month at the best of times but we're past the halfway mark now
    Cheers chums JackieO xxx

    Morning friends,

I've scared myself this morning by falling. Think I'm getting a bit too cocky on the crutches. Don't think I've done any damage. Just hurt my pride, must be more careful:o
Ds3 is going in college late today so he's making me breakfast before he goes.
Looking forward to a nice evening on our own tonight, everyone else is busy. Dh has promised to paint my toe nails and give me a foot rub which I love:D
Bit worried that I can't bend my knee very far but I guess its early days and I'm faithfully doing the exercises. Hopefully it will improve.
I'm enjoying sport relief bake off, just frustrating I can't bake.
Tea is steak and salad , yumm.
    Have a love Friday x

    Morning all!
Been MIA as my GUAG has fled, slept nearly all day one of my last days off!
Today is my mum's 78th birthday, off to pick her up shortly to go to a funeral, one of her very few remaining old friends sadly passed last week, not a great start to the year!
Better get a move on, not even been in the shower yet!
    RIP Iain
