OLD STYLE DAILY - 17th January 2014

Options
Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday January 17th. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning, not popped in here before. I'm feeling so tired at the moment but can't sleep, is that the same with you Molly or are you stuck working a night shift?.

I didn't feel like eating tonight or rather didn't feel like cooking so I've took some lamb ribs out the freezer for tomorrow. Thought if I stick them on a bed of mixed veg it'll do as one pot meal and won't need much thinking about tomorrow.

    Hello x
Up with Molly doggy as her tummy grumbling. I have put the fire on for her as it settles her. I think she is upset because I have been in Neuro hospital in London this week and came home yesterday afternoon - more investigations but have a plan - unfortunately it involves two big operations.

Came back to find reassessment letters on front mat for ESA - just what I needed (like a hole in the head……no wait I already have a hole in my head). Sympathies to Butterfly Brain - they are just the most dreadful forms to fill in. We do seem to get them at around the same time!

Kids, parents, money, health……..bring it on 2014……..actually stop the world I want to get off!

Hester - hope all is well with you and had a lovely chat with Donny who is gonna look stunning!!!

Julie - slowly but surely xx

Hugs for a good OS day - you keep me sane (especially when I have to sit here listening to Molly's tummy for the rest of the night)

ETA - nice to meet you Mrs Bones xx

Hope Molly doggy is better soon, I'm surrounded by dogs either snoring or giving me the evil eye because I've not gone to bed yet. In fact I've just heard mine going upstairs so think he's giving up waiting for me and gone to bed on his own.

Ha ha - I normally get a woof around 8pm to join her in my bed. Talk about a spoilt princess and she has been quite awkward and naughty whilst I been away - my poor eldest son has been running round after her! I also have Poppy who is fast asleep next to me so Im surrounded too x

    Morning :)

Today is the last day of a hectic week!

The food shop(s) turned up last night. So we have food again :)

Today I need to start restocking the freezer with bread, so will be making 2 loaves a day for the next week to catch up! I have washing to do (again!) then this afternoon we ALL have the dentist! And we need to take DS to his dads (35 miles away)!

Dinner tonight is leftover Chilli with Natcho's, Sour Cream and Salad :)

Hope you all have a great day x

TTFTM - glad you're treating yourselves, small treats mean so much when you're on the debt free journey x

    Welcome Mrs Bones.
Molly if I could have one wish it would be that you have a better year this year, I hope you've managed some sleep.
I worked an extra hour y'day thanks to a management muppet, if I could cause that person problems by leaving on time I would have but unfortunately it would have been a friend & colleague who suffered, so I stayed & I'm suffering for it now. Still the tablets will kick in soon & I'm finishing early today.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all.

I have been missing again, just too much on the to.

I haven't been sleeping properly and think the last time I had a whole nights sleep was beginning dec. I have been running on empty. Finally went to doc who thinks either it has become a habit or it's the pain medication I am on. Sleeping tablets given and a juggle with meds done. Only problem now is that the meds are not helping the pain I am constantly in. Have been off work since Monday but feel I can't return until this is sorted out. In fact have considered whether i can continue in the job I adore (work for a charity) or whether I will have to stop :(

Hope those with poorly animals are on the mend .

    Have a good day all

    Lyn x

Oh Hester that is so kind - I wish that your work situation would get better x

No sleep with Molly just waiting for the vets at 8.30am. Im tired and emotional. Sometimes you do wonder just how much more you can take x
