Stone me, I'm not that old.
They were still doing it in the 80's.
I just wonder if any pub still does.0 -
I have just found out that Greggs the bakers has different prices for goods in their shops. In Benfleet we pay more for some items than people in Basildon 5 miles away.I have been in touch with their customer services and I am currently kicking up a stink over their policy of doing this.Greggs was the company who took the government to task over the Pastie tax.Why are they charging different prices in their shops.Has anybody else realised this?Ask in your local Greggs if their prices are the cheapest. If not complain!

Get a grip and:
A) find something worth complaining aboutactually complain about a company doing something wrong
If you know that little about how businesses operate and as such can't appreciate a shop in a different area has different costs and prices, you should probably learn a little before spouting rubbish to customer services.0 -
Price, as in the going rate for a product is defined as "what the customer is 'happy' to pay in a competing and open market where he is free to choose to buy or not.
That is, the customer is free to go to the co-op, light a fire on the pavement and cook his own pasty, or drive 20 miles to buy cheaper pasties, or not bother at all.
I'm not sure but most organisations know there is a demand Vs price curve, and they know the point where they start to sell less, or thier costs go up (by having to run more ovens and empoly more staff) so they can work out where to pitch the price for a particular shop location.
Car wash in Bootle ? £1.99 Car wash in Formby 5 miles up the Road £5. and there's a queue at the expensive one and not at the cheap one.0 -

My local does something similar...
If you have a tab, you pay extra for your pints.
Also, if you're a local you will get verbal abuse to your face from the landlady. If you're not a local, you'll get verbals behind your back (unless you park in the wrong place, in which case you'll get verbals in your face.)1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
OP waits 4 years to make their 1st post LOL
Anyway until Greggs force money out of your pocket you are free to not purchase items from their Basildon branch.
Walking to Benfleet every day will get you really fit as well.
Its a win win situation.0 -
