we have two Greggs in our town centre, approx 250 metres apart and they charge totally different prices, plus one does the 2 for £1 offer and the other doesn't - only reason I can see is that one os closer to the Pound Bakery than the other
  • They probably sell more [STRIKE]dummies[/STRIKE] sausage rolls in Bailson, so they can sell them cheaper.

    :rotfl:

I know, the buggies cause a pavement blockage as all the single mums buy their kids 'Greggs Dummies' on benefit handout day. Its a whrilwind of Burberry and gold hoop earrings!

Not just Greggs - seems to be common, due to 'market variations' etc.

eg There are 2 Wetherspoons in my town, one charges £2.19 for a Carlsberg, the other £2.29. At one of the central Brum ones it's £1.99, and £3 ish in London.

    Just the way it is..
  • Our town must be one of the dearer ones. No 2for £1 here, all hot things apart from sausage rolls are a a pound and over. No £1 bakeries either just an overpriced auĺds.

Lots of companies do this, such as supermarkets, fast food outlets, restaurants etc. Prices vary around the country and from town to town. I don't think kicking up a stink at Greggs customer service is going to get you very far I'm afraid.

Your Greggs sells things that are hot?

    That must be unique

Anyone else remember when pubs that had two bars, the beer was cheaper in the public than the saloon?

I used to buy my beer in the public then go to the saloon!

Are there any pubs that still do this?

I think they stopped doing that in 1954, about the same time as meat came off the ration.
