Slowing to a halt now ... done three quarters of the editing, I have to recognise I can't do it all in one day. A couple of hours, like this has been, is ideal. One more might do it :)

Hope everyone has a good evening :)

Oh yeah :) when I went to Florida, I *did* spend a day at a theme park, because its the law, but much more of my time was spent at Kennedy Space Centre, and I saw a shuttle launch :j and I got the inside gen on the astronauts because I was staying with a science fiction fan who worked with them :j

Back in the 1990's we did a couple of Florida holidays and the theme parks were fully explored. But we had a day at the Kennedy Space Centre on each holiday, and very much enjoyed our time there. We nearly got to see a shuttle launch, but it was cancelled a few days beforehand as Hurricane Floyd was heading straight towards Florida:eek:

Fortunately for us the hurricane changed course at the last minute and made landfall in South Carolina, but it was a hair raising experience seeing satellite pictures of a 500 mile wide hurricane heading our way. We are so lucky that we don't have extreme weather.

At least you are nearly there with the editing. I imagine the fun part is the writing, but the editing must be more of a chore

    Have a lovely evening

There were hurricane alerts when I was out there too! I was alone in my friend's house in Cocoa Beach (right on the beach too!) waiting for her friend to come by and pick me up for the nighttime launch, with no transport of my own  She told me later that one reason Cape Canaveral was picked is that hurricanes always seem to give it a miss :D

When you're right, you're right _pale_ its a bit tough. Its shocking to see how un-ready it was, though!

I'm off to a country estate to have a looksee around, but there's no point in going till lunchtime, rain and mist are all over us right now, grrr. And I didn't really sleep after 4.30am, I'm turning into a hobbit - I need a second breakfast :rotfl: but I'll try to hold off while I have a look around the boards :D

Raining again ... I don't care, I'm going out in half an hour no matter what its doing :)

As I continue to work on pushing the pension to the max, I've made a discovery I need to confess :o I have two spreadbetting accounts open. One can be closed altogether, which has 297 euros in - that pays for about two weeks mortgage on the French apartment, but still, better than nothing :o

The other has £561 in :o:o:o when I'm selling a book on Amazon for a net of 25p, £561 is a lot of money ;) I think I might close that account too. I've gone on about trading for years, and never made it work, and really, between that and being ill, thats why all these bits and bobs of money are all over the place, and not joined up in decent pension-providing accounts.

So I'm going to close the sterling account as well. After I've made thousands from matched betting, which is perfectly possible - El made £6k or so - I'll have a go at trading again, if I'm still in a hole with the pension, using whatever free offers are available at the time. For now, I'm going to ring up on Monday and close both accounts. That will provide me with:
    1. E297 converted to sterling at today's rate on yahoo of ) 0.7991 = £230 rounded down.
    2. £561, which won't be subject to any fees.

    Total: £791!

The euros will be counted as "vouchers", because they really will just go to pay the mortgage, whereas the £561 can go to the pension.
561 = 1.168% of my net pension shortfall all on its own. I'm really quite surprised that after all this time on mse I've become this inefficient.

Never mind, mended now. And I'm off out :j:j:j Hope everyone has a good day.

  • Have a great day and I hope the rain holds off.

I think overlooking the two accounts is just down to life. We can't keep on top of everything all the time. Lovely surprise for you to find so much :T. Any more lurking anywhere :rotfl::rotfl:

    Best wishes, Tilly x

That much be very pleasing to *find* all that money.

It's just reminded me that I've still got a few shares in my previous employer. If I could remember how to log in, I could go and see how much that are worth.

I probably wouldn't sell them, as the value has gone down so much. It's only a paper loss at the moment - my dream is to hold on to the shares until they are worth what they were at their peak.... but I'm not sure if I'll live that long! :rotfl:

Hope you got out today this afternoon has been a little better weather-wise
