Protein eaten

Quince done
3 jars in the end, each of around 340g. And an extra dishwasher load of washing up!
Sainsbury: 130g of quince paste is £2.99!
Waitrose: Tiptree do a 340g quince jelly for £2.49 (and its 87% quince! Good grief).
The cost was maybe £2.50, so a saving of £5 at the shops - I'd never have bought the Sainsbo one. A lot of faff, though if I'd written the recipe out, instead of running up and down stairs to look at the computer, it might have been easier :rotfl: That sort of thing
Got to sit down now
2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Someone in RL described me as an animal lover recently - and I am, its true. Not just cats. So, there's a little rabbit who passed away today, and I'll just salute him on here, with fondness and love, and know that he'll be hopping about at the Rainbow Bridge, sitting with my cats, and letting them play with his ears sometimes. Bye bye sweetie.

No, a rellie's, but she's been around a long time for a rabbit, 7 years ... part of my life.:(Oh poor little babbit - was she yours KC?:(
"Babbit" ... are you reading Cold Comfort Farm, RT?
Yep, I taped it from the tv when I still had a licence. I liked it - but I'm not really a foodie. Some people I know really disliked it, but its not solely about food, its about who we are, how we connect, especially in the computer age - Julie was blogging before we knew there was a blogosphereKC - have you seen that movie? - was it any good?

:j there's a lot going on there :T 2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Well, this morning, onwards and upwards, as the title of a previous diary used to say

- one of my books on Amazon sold! I originally bought it for £15, both me and my business partner used it for CPD, and even after Amazon take their cut (but before postage) its sold for £15.19! Amazing!
- remembered a bubblews-like set of forums I used to post on, managed to log on again, and found I have US $ 27 sitting there. I'll withdraw that to paypal, though I've no idea if they'll exchange it to UK £ or what, and then join a few of the best-paying ones again - some of them pay 3 times what the lowest paying does.
- inspired by Tilly for the mfw-ness, and ed, for the mfw-ness and the matched bettingness, I must (re) join topcashback today - partly for the mb-ing, but partly for things that even I buy, like train tickets. For Christmas - which is a lot of money
- and like Cheery, I need to declare spends. I bought two Stargate DVDs last night - I'm having a bit of a Stargate fest, as I think I mentioned
and some of them were taped onto DVDs a while ago, and the DVDs are crap, and they don't work any more
I only paid charity shop prices, and I don't have a tv licence any more, so needs must, to see the lovely Daniel Jackson in all his glory :rotfl: 2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I packed up the book ready to send - if I buy from ama zon, I keep the packing; and there's always used bubblewrap around in my house

Printing out the packing slip, I saw something interesting - despatch date is today, which will be fine, but delivery date is "18th - 30th October" - so its fine to send 2nd class. I've been a bit slap happy about that in the past, but newly re-inspired by Tilly, I shall stick to the principles invoked by Ama zon, and send it 2nd class - quite saving there, I think
(it'll pay for one of the Stargate DVDs, anyway
)
And I've requested the $27 from the forum promotion site - we'll see what currency that turns up in!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Good work there lass! :j0

Congrats on the book sale, Karmacat:T. I sell a lot of stuff on Amazon (rather than eBay these days) and it's always a bonus to buy a book, get plenty of use out of it and still sell it for pretty much the buying price.:j
I always post 2nd class (after all, that's what Amazon expect and tell us to do;)) but I make sure I post it the same day or at the latest the morning after receiving the 'sold' email. The only time I send 1st class is when it is so small and light that it will go as a 'large letter'. As the buyer has been charged £2.80 by Amazon for the postage I wouldn't want them to give me bad feedback for overcharging:eek:
P.S. I read your thread avidly (am subscribed to it too) but have just come out of lurkdom to join in and post.0
