Thats great, Goldie! A profit is pretty bomb proof, as long as you're not tempted by actual betting - the profit might be 65%, or it might be 80%, depending on the work you put it to find matches (though even thats easier now, with oddsmonkey). When you're ready, you'll be ready, as the saying goes
Erm, I forgot a fair few of the things I was supposed to take with me, so I didn't do all my listI *did*:
- banking, payments in, personal cash out.
- library books back.
- Iceland: frozen veg, cheese, quorn (great offer on the quorn, and I spotted a larger pack with the same offer, so I was happy :rotfl:).
- 4 for 3 birthday cards in Next.
- posh ball of wool in charity shop for knitting for the cat images.
- Poundland - tubs of handcream, food quality lunch bags (reuseable, wot?), antibac handgel, diary for next year, A3 drawing paper to work on cat images, that sort of thing.
Still got to go to the PO, Sainsbo and M&S (Christmas money from my mum) so I'll do those tomorrow. It was rainy, and now its hugely windy out there, one of those days when you hope the local roof slates are securely nailed down :rotfl:
The rest of today: the ever present tidying, and some writing2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Sounds pretty productive to me! :j0

It was, Cheery, it was
I have to have a proper rest after that sort of thing, but I'd planned it all properly, so it went well
And I did some work on the book in the evening, I'd almost forgotten how much I enjoy it
Today, more rain, where do they keep it all? Though I can see lots of blue sky, so the rain shouldn't be forever. Tasks for today:
- pay at least one French bill. When I've finished this visit to mse, I'm not coming back online until I've done that, this is getting ridiculous.
- trip out to the shops, as per outline yesterday, if it ever stops raining.
- H&B, the pestshave got their "buy another for a penny" sale on - and it includes actual food, as well as all their weird supplements. So I'll cost out a few things, in particular their dates and ginger. When they're basically half price, they become more viable.
- book routine dental appointment, and flu injectionsadly necessary.
- eat something yummy2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
True to my word :j

The French tax website is geared to ... domestic French users ... how very dare theya pleading email to my accountant was answered within ten minutes, bless her cotton socks, she gave me a linkie that enabled me to pay with the log-in info I actually had (and that was the problem, the login!). Just the managing agent to do on Monday now.

YepI had some new slippers gifted to me last year that were too small, and I never took them back at the time
and now they don't stock them any more, which means a credit note is impossible - I thought that might happen
I think I'll try out selling stuff via the local facebook page, see how that goes. Other stuff all good.

It was very funny :rotfl:I won't go through the whole thing, but I paid £23.28 and saved £16.44 on their normal prices :rotfl:and I told the shop assistant that I'd been working on their website before I came out. She thought that was sensible

Oops, no. I worked on the French tax payment for a *long* time.
[STRIKE]- eat something yummy[/STRIKE]
Yes. But I'm going to do it again :beer:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Yeah KC! Great Ta-Da List! You've done very well in attacking it! Any plans for this weekend? We were hoping to forage for the last of the blackberries, but looks like our time would be better used working on the ark!;)
I'm in the process of attacking my list - three day weekend for me & it involves studying and writing two exams for a recruitment competition!:eek:4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Mrs E has to have the flu injection as well, luckily she already had one in April, so is good for the rest of the year.
Sent on some bookie details to you, although I've probably missed a couple. I've lost my MB mojo a bit, focusing more on re-arranging finances and investing at the moment
Have a lovely weekend KC0 -

I just got the latest information about what tax was deducted, and you might chuck me out of the mfw club if you knew, so this is my pledge: as well as doing a matched bet qualifier next week, I will book a flu jab and transfer as much as I can into one of the new ISAs.
Have a lovely weekend KCYou have a good'un too, not too much poring over finances, a good meal with your wife and a nice glass of wine, pleasant walk the next day, that sort of thing

I'll forgive you, I don't think I've *ever* used a cash ISA
Also, thanks to the wonder of NISAs, who can afford to use the full limit? :rotfl:0 -

I also experienced a cup of tea, erm, downstairs  Now that was an embarassing diary post...
As regards investing at this point, you need to be clear about your risk tolerance, your goals and when you will need each of your pots to come into play. Generally speaking tho, if it's money that you need to live on, you should be taking some risk off the table as you go. I recommend reading up on sequence of returns risk.0
