Right, I've *definitely* got it clear in my head now, thanks to Ed's suggestion of a spreadsheet
So I wandered about the house, looking for stashes of money - and, um, I used to do the £2 savings pot thing, and it was just in a bag. £60! With the £100 cash currently listed in my sig, and taking cash from over-catering for a float for when people pay me cash (don't need it at the mo, cash payments are in whole notes, no problem), I can buy £200 of premium bonds on Monday
The reasoning is that they *might* win me £1million suddenly :j but more importantly, that money is kept aside so I can put decent chunks into savings, and not lost in the day to day faff.
I'm keeping track on the spreadsheet which ed suggested to understand the £300 thing (better to have it all in one place!) which also lists vouchers - currently standing at £2.50, for the nectar points I used today :rotfl:
By hook or by crook, I'll retire in the way, and at the time, that I *want* to retire.
PS - I have a quick "out" for swag* - you can buy £3 of Amazon money for 520 points. I currently have 486, got 20 today :rotfl: not long now, and I *swear* I'll go back to matched betting after that, when £3 is easily earned in an hour.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
You understood it all, sorry for not answering, was cooking a few things for later on in the week
Do remember that 4% SWR is from a balanced portfolio of stocks and bonds. Saving the money in PB means that a) you'll take longer to reach your target and b) your SWR will have to be far lower, as the rate on PBs is crappy. In fact, the PBs will likely be losing money to inflation with surprising regularity! :rotfl: - just tried to write :Leek: as a smiley.
We haven't even thought about inflation yet0 -

Remember that you can start a SIPP as well, assuming your current low cost pension is a stakeholder dealy?0

Mmmm ... the details escape me, its about 3 years since I set it up. With the viruses this year, I'm a bit behind on the financial housekeeping. I'll do better! Got a snack with me now, need to read not post, so I'll pop over to the right part of the forum
thanks for your help, ed, I really, really appreciate it. More later

You Gov is the other survey site I like, as every survey they give you is one that you actually can complete.
Well done on all your recent planning - it'll pay off one day, hopefully sooner rather than laterEarly retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
Thanks Goldie! Yep, I'm on yougov - didn't do any for about 2 years, but I'm back there now, at least till I collect the dosh
I should be in bed, but just as I was closing down, in a moment of madness, I clicked on a swag survey, and was accepted! And it was 75 points for 10 mins. Although it said credited in 3 days, it was instant, hallelujah, so I've ordered the £3 gift thing for Amazon, and I may just carry on doing the "hello, I'm still a member" clicks, like I click on the hunger site every day ...
Bliss! My fingers can recover from all that faffing around now

Morning all!
Right, well, I'm keeping on with swa** till I get my little gift card ... otherwise, today continues quietly, as I'm off out tonight to my board games evening. I may condescend to do some gardeningotherwise its Carry On Tidying though I'm sufficiently aware of what I need to do that I have my errands list for tomorrow already written out in my diary.
Hope everyone can get outside some time today to enjoy the sunshine - oops, I just looked at the national map, clouded over in the north and west of the island, sorry! Its very lovely here2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Good to hear it, RT - thats another plan of mine, get the stakes and poles in the ground for the washing line - I have absolutely all the kit required, its just finding the energy to do it. I'm doing well so far - I mean, I actually wiped up some condensation on the inside of the windows! Thats astonishing :rotfl:
