    Hello beautiful people :j :hello:

I did a *lot* of work on the garden after posting, so much so that I took yesterday off :o and I'm sure that by the end of this year, things will be sorted to let me do just the upkeep, none of this navvying :D

Anyway, sadly, I need to disappear again from the web - my computer fan is definitely on the blink, and I'm currently using my desk fan to keep the laptop cool enough to stay on - which makes it quite chilly for me, actually in this weather  But I'm only disappearing so that I can stay online properly :D

Still managed to do a couple of bits - I thought Paragon Bank were charging me for cancelling that 3 year fixed ISA I took out - they emailed me back and said they'd no record of it, so I googled the location and realised its the host for my blog :o:o:o so I sent a very apologetic email to Paragon *Bank*. Oops! Glad I managed to do that.

Anyway, credit cards all paid, emails up to date, money in the French and English current accounts to let things roll over while I don't have immediate access - no idea how long it takes to replace a fan, but Z was right when he suggested getting it done right away on such an old laptop (6 years! It really is old!)

I have an even older laptop, running Microsoft XP, that can't get online any more, but I can still type documents on it, so I'll be playing about with blog posts and kindle books and things while my current laptop's in the hospital. Deffo going to catch up **completely** on here first though :)

    Thanks all!

Depends if they've worked on your type of laptop before. Maybe 15-20 minutes to get into it, 5 minutes to swap the fan (it's only 2 self-tappers and a plug) and 5-10 minutes to put it back together. Make sure they have the relevant part first though - they're *all* different.

Well this one had this windows installed Oct 2012, so it's not that far behind.

It'll work if you plug it in using a cable, but XP is completely unsafe for general browsing. Though having said that, XP protected people during the "wannacry" ransomware crisis.

It crashed when the malware ran.

That's what we call "insufficient product testing" in the trade... :rotfl:

  • Also mostly offline. It will be good to see you back. x
  • KC, I empathise over your inability to get online because of dodgy technology. Been there, done that:(

I hope you manage to get the fan replaced soon without it costing too much. We all miss you:kisses3:
