Sorry to hear you weren't well enough to cope with your Games Evening. It sounds fun. Sleep is a great healer though so you did the right thing. I hope you'll feel stronger and more energised as the weekend goes on:beer:
Are you still hearing scratching/scrabbling from your hidden, hungry unwanted guests? It must be very unnerving:eek:
I've had a nightmare day and a half trying to get a complicated email to submit in its entirety. I thought all was well but when I checked my 'sent' folder it appears that random chunks of text have disappeared from the email and it makes very little sense. It contained quite a lot of figures and calculations so I expect I'm going to have to rewrite, type it out, print it off and send it by post to make sure they get what I want them to get. More time wasted:mad:

Thank you all - CBC, sorry you've got tech woes as well, it's very tough, isn't it.
I had a terrible sleepwhich means I'm on the mend, ironically, I need to do a bit more so I can sleep properly. Weird, but true
So I'll do something in the garden for 20 minutes today, I'll set my alarm so I don't put myself back. Its a beautiful day out there, really lovely

Thanks both - yes, that's what happened. I went back to bed for early afternoon, then went out to the garden late afternoon, showered, and deep-cleaned my hair of all the allergens. And I *did* sleep better, so I'll do something similar today.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I hope that today is as good for you too.
The dreaded Alpine strawberries are still in situ here, but at least I have been able to pick lots of fruit, the blackbirds don't seem to take them, must be too sour:)The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Thank you maddie
Bit of finance work actually has gone on this morningFinally paid the fiver over to the new post office a/c, just to link the sites before sending over the bulk of the money. Just had a final faff about to re-learn how to add a website to Trusteer for the correct protection, done it now.
Got to cancel that train ticket I booked for Merseyside, I'll be going in August now, hopefully. Maybe the trains won't be too bad midweek.
Lots of assorted texts, emails and phone conversations - I feel like I've done a day's work!
Plus **three** cats were outside my back door this morningwhich was lovely in one way, but I have found a certain amount of cat poo
which then tells me where the cluster flies might be coming from, the ones that overwinter in my loft
might be time for some stern measures, sadly.

Morning!
- £2.38 earned from Ratesetter last month, it's proving excellent value.
- just looked at Martin's newsletter - savings rates are on the up, for sure. The ISA account I opened and then shut immediately, last month, was with Paragon Bank, 1.41% p.a. fixed for 3 years. In the newsletter, it's now offering 2.1% p.a. fixed for the same amount of time.
- 45 minute phone call yesterday with my bank - I was putting that money into an Easy Access account, and got caught up in their fraud software. A 45 minute phone call! It was so awful, I agreed to a suggestion that my phone number was deleted from their records - they always send a letter anyway, apparently. If its something too detailed for a letter, I'll make an appointment at my branch, I'm not going through that sort of phone conversation again for anything
- I was "allowed" to transfer my money to my account again. I'd warned that I'd be transferring more - I was doing it in tranches to avoid this very situation! I'll try for some more today
- just done first ever airbnb booking, so we can see Norfolk rellies without descending on them en masse. Sister had to book it via my laptop, as there was a security measure about taking her photo and comparing it to the one on her account. It was fascinating to see the process
Today, I'm just going to upload a blog post, send another piece of that savings money to its proper home, and do some more in the garden - I've thrown out the entire batch of soil in the cat poo containerI'll be watching that like a hawk. I've also been going for the ants building nests on my patio - not acceptable I'm afraid, I don't want ants on my patio or in my house
I'm mean like that
