Thanks both! Here's to the metaphorical cherries of our lives :j

Right, I have no option but to start to work on the French stuff, it's got to be done. "I may be some time" as Captain Oates said, but probably not :D I should think it's about 15 minutes :o

ETA - okay, actual payments from me to them, the management charges, are all up to date and received. That's something. Next ... the emails.

  • Well done:T. It's always such a relief to get a dreaded job out of the way isn't it? I know from bitter experience that the thought of it is far worse than the actual doing of something;). Doesn't stop me putting things off until absolutely forced to do them though:o

Erm ... panic is an astonishing thing. Just read the most concerning email once again, rather than staring at it in horror. It says the apartment building will be closed for rental to holidaymakers from 16th September to 22nd December of this year. :o:o:o

I tried to make myself not freak out about it, but I was. And I needn't have. There's some kind of renovation going on, I think, the lift is noisy, something like that. Frankly, as long as the building isn't being abandoned by the holiday service and the management company, I don't care :o:o:o

Astonishing. That's it. Done and dusted. C'est complet. Fini. An ex-parrot. A parrot no more.

Glad the Rapport stuff wasn't too complicated and you got out yesterday. Good luck with the translation - break it up into chunks!

Astonishing, isn't it ;) appalling fuss, more like it! It's made up my mind to set in motion selling the place, on the main leaseback site attached to the relevant forum, if nowhere else. There's been a change in the law that says you don't necessarily have to lose the VAT refund in certain situations. I'll wait until next week, I think, when I have more mental energy, and go for it.

Thanks for your translation offer, earthgirl, thats very kind, I may well take you up on that :)

I'm definitely showing off about opening the post :D

Thank you all! Just done the final check, and I've seen that my Internet Explorer is up to date, because it's been set on "automatically update" :o I don't usually do that, I like to choose when to instal updates, hey ho. But it means that this morning, I can go ahead not only with finding out my current NW but also transferring money around - an experimental fiver to the new easy access account is the most important. I never do big initial transfers, for safety's sake.

Cancelled Games Evening :( felt utterly awful yesterday, at least it meant I got a proper night's sleep, feel a *little* better this morning. Got to take care.

Didn't cancel the pest control guy - all the rat poison has been taken, which has disappointed him (me too!) He's put down more in all the places, and a bit more than previously, there's been parties up there
