    Good stuff!

I tried to do one of my tasks this morning - testing a computerised form that lets you do your own French tax to be submitted in France. It would cost E90 as opposed to E420, a very big saving. I can't face doing it, though, I really loathe French accounts :o though I did see something on the website about no longer having to reimburse VAT if you sold your property. So I'm going to check. Maybe I could get out from under more quickly.

Just picked some rhubarb :j moneysavinggardens R US dot com :j though I think I have to learn how to divide the plant  I thought that was gardeners being unnecessarily fussy, but there's a tangle of 3 crowns or so, they need separating, it's obviously got to be done. Early spring, before the new shoots, so I've missed my chance this year. Thats okay.

    Weeding again this afternoon.

We considered splitting our rhubarb KC, but the books seemed to suggest it wasn't necessary... have left it again this year. We love it but there's rather a lot - I sold some at the boot sale!

  • That would be great news if you could offload the French place sooner rather than later. It doesn't seem to bring much joy.

I'm following lots of tips on here, orange peel in log burners and growing rhubarb are in my future list of things to do :)

Have never heard of orange peel in log burners. Need to use ours more and turn the heating off - still a tiny bit cold!

A log burner is on my future list of things to do - will remember that tip! EG - it's been cold down here this week too, I've had my heating on at times over the last couple of days! That's unheard of in April!

If you're selling at a bootsale, thats a great idea, madvix :)

I abandoned everything to do with the French apartment yesterday - even the research on whether I could get rid of it sooner. EE, you're right, it brings no joy - I loathe the place, because of what a bit mistake it was and the trauma (:o:o:o apologies, but thats how it feels) of dealing with something I hate in a foreign language. Even though I can chat away in French, its still awful to deal with the technical stuff :o

So I cleared away the twigs and whatnot from a particular piece of ground, a bed of about two square yards, raked the mulch off it, and weeded the whole thing :j including getting rid of some fossilised carpet :p then I raked the mulch back over it, and put dried holly twigs all over it - the holly twigs are to stop the local cats using it :D very happy with that.

Realising something about the *way* that I work - I only have two speeds, stop and go, if I'm not to struggle. I struggle with "do this and take your time" - I think thats often why I don't do things till near the deadline. Such as testing out this system for doing the French accounts the new way, oops.

Ah well - I'm off on a National Trust visit today, joining up, so just for today, I don't care :j

Hope everyone else has a good day too.

Didn't happen :( I was stressing a bit, the bus was delayed and detoured, by the time I got to my sister's, I felt so sick we couldn't go. Did manage to do a walk that was local to her, and managed to get home on my own without her having to drive me, but it wasn't good.

I'm very unreliable to have as a friend, the slightest thing sends me right under :( Got to focus now on staying well so I can do the catsitting next week.

Have a rest Karmacat - you have your background stress things going on in your head. I always get an upset tummy when everything is going on. I hope you are feeling better. The sun is shining here and i am about to go outside and get my hanging baskets planted and hung up in the greenhouse, before we go to a party this afternoon. Big financial decision to make this weekend so I was up at 05.45... have a metaphorical hug! 🤗

I'm sure those who know and love you are very happy having you as a friend:A

This latest setback was due to circumstances totally beyond your control so please don't beat yourself up about it. You obviously did all you could (by getting ready to undertake the trip) and it wasn't all bad in the end as you had a nice walk with your sister. Plus, you should feel very proud of yourself for having the strength and determination to get home under your own steam. That can't have been easy after what had happened. Well done:T

Take a bit of a break now over the Bank Holiday (a good chance to do nothing that you don't want or have to;)). You'll be fine by the time the cats are waiting to be sat:kisses3:

    I'm sorry I haven't visited and posted much lately:o but I always have a catch-up whenever I can. Enjoy the weekend, everyone:beer:
