- used up the last few points on my mum's boots card, ha - got some handcream. That was on my big finance list to do!
It's the little things that really do add up I've found. Much more so than you would think and these type of tasks end up on my list a lot.
Well done on the back garden and brilliant news that your neighbours have sorted the front bit too.0 -
Morning everyone
glad you got the pm Alex, not to worry on timing of reply.
I've been pootling about on transport websites - got a single ticket to a London rail station, which was *very* little, cos of my railcardbut then it comes to figuring out Oystercards  as I need to get a bus. I lived in London for years, but that was a million years ago, and since I don't have a travelcard, but a single ticket, I need my Oyster card. Got to call them about incomplete journeys ... I will *not* make a production out of it
Otherwise, its just packing and finishing things off ... already spoken to the neighbour who's going to be taking care of my own house, so thats good.

Ha! That was interesting. Spoke to TfL - they cancelled my online payment of this morning, as activating it but not going on a rail journey would lead to an uncompleted journey charge, which would be a faff. And I can just buy a topup at a shop "as normal" - its never been normal for me, as I didn't live in London when it started, but I finally understood what was meant.
Plus, "contactless" means I could use my debit card! Bit concerned about starting to go down that route, but hey ho ... it might be worth it this once. Anybody got any experience with contactless payments, they sound so problematic?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Hi earthie
I'm sure it will be fine - it's one of those areas that's a bit like a village, and I think it's walkable distance to the Thames, and there are two cats, after all :j:j:j My cat photography skills will improve no endSave2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
KC, no experience of contactless apart from having read the horror stories. I just wondered if you've come across rome2rio.com when looking for travel routes? Tbh it's really designed for longer, international, journeys, but v useful as it gives alternatives you may not have considered. You'd then need to check individual sites if you have discount cards etc. May help out when you're feeling stronger and venturing further afield to catsitA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

What MWC said - I've never had any problems... except when I accidentally used two cards by mistake (i.e. one to swipe in, the other to swipe out - ended up getting the max charge on both, but it was my stupidity that caused the problem, not using contactless/TfL).
Sounds like a nice area to be staying inEnjoy!
