Oh, I didn't even think of that :eek::eek: but you're right! And I'm **glad** you raised it.

And bleepity bleep, I mentioned the exact amount of the refund I was due _pale_ I think I'd like Eon Company Rep to come back on and explain the company policies and the company actions, which are different things for many companies :(

I think you are reading too much into it.

Maybe you're right, beanielou:). Over-thinking situations has been my downfall over the years:o. I wasn't suggesting that the E-on rep is anything but honourable and that our privacy will not be safeguarded. It's just the fact that our 'real' and 'virtual' lives could be associated by businesses. It makes me uneasy.

I'm sorry I started this subject now as I'd hate to cause any disquiet to anyone:o

The reason the rep popping up disturbs me is that they can then associate our username on here and all that goes with it (which they couldn't know otherwise) with lots of our personal details which they have access to from our 'real life' dealings with them.

The "advantage" of a commercial company, is that they aren't going to do that unless they can convince themselves it'll turn a profit - they aren't going to do it.

State mass surveillance on the other hand has stupidly large resources and stupidly little need to have any actual usefulness.
I don't know about anyone else but I really appreciate the anonymity of being able to talk about anything on these threads and divulge things about ourselves that we maybe wouldn't in real life. It's not that we have anything sinister to hide, it's just a kind of therapy in a way:)

The anonymity means not having to watch your words. The easiest way to watch your words is to not say them.

It's for the same reasons they're different for many people : Talk is cheap - do is hard.

And if you do as you say as you do, and do as you say, it messes with people's heads so much they regard you with suspicion bordering on paranoia...

:T:T You could write a book, Z! Thanks for that. Not saying ... yep! I was thinking about finance planning on here, and for a brief, foolish moment, I was actually going to list savings and pension totals. Not now :D And CBC, what you wrote, about the concern that "our 'real' and 'virtual' lives could be associated by businesses", I think it's a legitimate concern, I really do. This is all very interesting!

The company we've been talking about has obviously decided this thread is none of its business since I left it in any case - fair enough :p

Moving on ... I didn't come back for any ta-da or to-do lists yesterday, I went to my Sainsbo, which was a 20 minute walk each way when I felt well, but doing it now, plus searching out a few things in the shop, knocked me out for the whole day, I actually went to bed for a while, and didn't recover fully till about 7pm :( so I need to be careful today, as I'm going to my sister's tomorrow.

So today, I'll be doing any of the billion tasks around the house or garden. Everything from the counselling room is as ready as it can be to go to the tip on Tuesday, so its onwards and upwards :)

Thanks earthgirl :) I've been on email, and getting ready to go to my sister's, and while it was lovely and windy and fresh out, started trimming garden hedges again (am ignoring the brambles!!!). My reasoning is that the quinces needs the sunlight and can't afford to be drowned by ivy, and if i chop back the box enough, I'll be able to use the compost bin :o:o:o I definitely intend to chop the bleeping box right back to the border, get some air in :j

Sounding productive over here. Our garden is going wild again, poured with rain all day today but it definitely needs a bit of time spending on it. Am trying to tackle it bit by bit rather than viewing it as a massive task!

Hi Cath! Honestly, I think thats the only way to approach a garden - after all, plants keep growing! Leave it for too long, as I have because of the chronic fatigue, and you open yourself to a world of pain.

Prune little and often, however, and if you have the right plants, you're continually harvesting - like cut and come again lettuce on a massive scale :):):)
