All sounds fab KC!
Bit pushed for time at the moment - will catch up properly soon.
MCI xMortgage Free x 1 03.11.2012 - House rented out Feb 2016
Mortgage No 2: £82, 595.61 (31.08.2019)
OP's to Date £8500
Renovation Fund:£511.39;
Nectar Points Balance: approx £30 (31.08.2019)0 -
Of course, MCI - there's a lot there over the last week or so :o:rotfl:
Not bad today:
1. started stripping off the fabric from the foamI was a bit wary of not taking CBC's advice to give the foam away on freecycle etc. But taking it out of its covers - the dratted stuff fell apart. It was still a good idea, but not for this stuff, its horrible!
2. got the new-therapist listing chosen, printed, and commented upon, with a postage stamp on the right envelope :rotfl: just off to post that now, thats my walk as well.
3. Done a live chat with Eon, after changing to Sainsbo Energy. They know I've left, they didn't take last month's DD, and did they refund my credit balance? As we used to say, did they thumpHave you had your final bill, they said? No, bill-less account, last DD not taken. Oh, I can refund you now. Yes please. £58.71 earned/recovered :j

Hello Karmacat and sorry you've left us. Hope you liked our new Live Chat service. It's not been up and running very long but is proving very popular.
Thought I'd explain, with a change of supplier, it's the responsibility of the new supplier to let the old supplier have the meter readings they intend to use to open their account. The old supplier will use the same readings to close their account and issue a final bill. This makes sure the same energy is only charged once.
With paperless billing, a bill is still issued but is put on your online account rather than posted out. We send an email to let you know it's there. Refunds automatically go out within 14 working days of an accurate final bill being issued. Provided the bill is on the account, advisors can override this and send the refund sooner. Suspect that's what our Live Chat advisor has done.
Hope this explains the delay Karmacat and sorry again you've left.

Hello Eon Company Rep
I can quite believe my refund got caught in the Terrible Wheels of Grinding Admin, and that humans can sort it in a trice. Not hugely impressed with the admin of the new peeps, but their charges are a *lot* lower. And I don't have to go through the faff of claiming vouchers - I'd rather have lower charges. The changeover happened on 1st August, a lot longer ago than 14 days. The rep I spoke to back then was appallingly chummy, and short on facts.
Oh my god, I've turned into Victoria Meldrew already  I take it all back. And I have to admit, Eon are super-efficient on here, it's a bit:o:o:o actually!
With those vouchers, anyway, when I get back from holibobs I'm going to do a big veg shop at Iceland, and experiment with fermented foods, the total now stands at £25, thats too much money to blow.
Update:
1. No more foam done yet, I'll have to get a dust mask.
2. List posted.
3. Eon turned into superstars.
4. posted the cat blog, it took literally 5 minutesnow I've sorted how to post pics properly, it's really easy

I don't know about anyone else but I found it a bit spooky that as soon as you posted on here about your experience with E-on over the cancellation a rep popped up on your thread:eek:. I've seen this happen before on other threads. Do these company reps haunt the threads waiting until their company name is mentioned? Or maybe they have special software that flags up any comments made about them. Either way, it's all a bit Big Brotherish:eek:
Well, there's nothing like a good moan to start a new month is there?:o. I needed to sort something out with PayPal and after nearly losing the will to live with their so-called automated system I sent them a message. They said the problem I was encountering could be easily solved by a human (my word not theirs) and to phone them.
I was kept on hold for 20 minutes:mad: with the same music playing throughout, not even a medley to break the monotony. I couldn't face hanging up and going through the whole lengthy rigmarole later. Thank goodness it was Freephone:T. The delays is why I only ever phone as a last resort. When someone actually responded they were able to sort my problem (which I've failed to do via the website on and off for a year now) in about 2 minutes:j
Sorry about the rant:o. I feel better now though:rotfl:
Have a brilliant September everyone:beer:0 -
CBC - it's not only you who finds this creepy and intrusive. A quick 'Hi I'm a rep, let me know if you need a hand' would suffice. It's the 'full investigation conducted' over delivery that I find a bit surreal.0

They probably just use the search facility to bring up all threads where the word (and close relatives) Eeeeeooooonnnnnn has been mentioned in the past 24 hours.
It would probably make a good comedy sketch with someone at a bigwigs "Networking party" mentioning innocuous words, and having various reps coming up..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

CBC - I really feel for you having to phone them - I really, really hate that, thats why I was relieved at the live chat facility. And yes, I agree about the freephone/time spent queuing - they'd have a riot on their hands if you had to pay for that, grrr.
And yep, a company rep popping on here happened the first time I mentioned their voucher system! The speed is slightly spooky, isn't it ... they're upfront about being Eon, they don't pretend to be something they're not, so I can live with it - it's like if you're on Twitter and a company rep comes by when you mention them. But its a frill, like the vouchers, and lower prices would be more productive in terms of customer appreciation and retention. I received £25 in vouchers! My DD wasn't much more than that, so it was almost a whole month's gas and elec supply.
Happy September, beanie, Happy September all
Got a ta-da list for yesterday, and a to-do list for today, so back soon2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I'm sorry I started this subject now as I'd hate to cause any disquiet to anyone:o
The reason the rep popping up disturbs me is that they can then associate our username on here and all that goes with it (which they couldn't know otherwise) with lots of our personal details which they have access to from our 'real life' dealings with them.
I don't know about anyone else but I really appreciate the anonymity of being able to talk about anything on these threads and divulge things about ourselves that we maybe wouldn't in real life. It's not that we have anything sinister to hide, it's just a kind of therapy in a way:)0
