Drain is mended :j:j:j
It's hard to describe how happy this makes me
And he had a bit of extra sand and concrete around, and used it to fill in around the holes made for pipes by the first builder I had (who I don't use any more). Remember I used to see daylight in the cabinet underneath the kitchen sink? I sealed the inner wall, but not the outer. All done now

I know what you mean, about paying for something that I'd previously have given through friendship, but I was thinking about it after I wrote it, and since he mediates all his relationships through money, it *might* actually save our friendship. If I do it
which is a little bit unlikely
Is it worth saving? Do you value people like that outside of a professional setting? As for the nurse's uniformshe left him, y'know
I don't think he was paying her enough for that
Perhaps he thought he was paying too much..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

It should make you happy. Always keep the water out. The rest can wait. And he had a bit of extra sand and concrete around, and used it to fill in around the holes made for pipes by the first builder I had (who I don't use any more). Keep hold of him. Good builders are hard to find, and seem to go bad after a while."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Thanks beanie, SHS - chilling duly accomplished, six hours uninterrupted sleep plus assorted lolling about :jIs it worth saving? Do you value people like that outside of a professional setting?:TIt should make you happy. Always keep the water out. The rest can wait.
That's the priority, isn't it!
Keep hold of him. Good builders are hard to find, and seem to go bad after a while.
This guy's a plumber - he said he won't work in tandem with any builder, he just does his own thing - and he's only about 30 (though I'm so old I might be misjudging that slightly). Sparkling review on checkatrade for him, anyway. The builder I *now* have is a good'un too - inherited the business from his elderly dad, so he's a bit old school too, which is brill.
Bliss. Not a working day, I can faff around to my heart's content :beer:
