Okay, sorted. As previously, the staff member was extremely helpful, and fully aware of how crap the website is - so much so, she gave me her direct line! They work hard, but the material they've got to work with is terrible. I'm sure I've done that whole stupid Register before, ticking 12 paragraphs individually is hard to forget, but it obviously didn't take. This time, I took a screenprint of the "congratulations" screen. We'll see.
And breathe.
Okay, last night, I sorted a few photos to use as avatars and headers for the cat website. So, to do today:
- finishing off the avatar work for the cat blog, and doing the same for the other one, though thats a bit more difficult.
- bit of pruning, keep those brambles on the run.
- put the washing machine on first, to give it all a chance to dry, its not bad today.
- I'm so irritated at my professional organisation, I don't dare do any writing, but I can do the financial admin of checking the isa rates, which was on the list, and researching P2P if it comes to that.
- I think I might add Linked In to all the cat website shenanigans, see where that takes me.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Gosh, how pointlessly vexing that all sounds!! no wonder nobody's happy with them! Glad you managed to speak to a real person finally!
Have you got the sunshine? Tis glorious here - might pop to the library in a bit just for a bit of a walk in the sunshinewe're in a new building with a large atrium with loads of windows - I'm currently sat on the second floor, under the skylights, on a comfy sofa, basking in the warmth like a cat

Yep, the sunshine is lovely, Cheery - washing is out on the line, a few more brambles dug up or cut down, its lovely and warm and fresh
Your new building sounds gorgeous! There's a library not too far from the sea round me, rebuilt a little while ago, and the entire south-facing wall is glass, with the floor hanging in midair, and as you say lots of comfy sofas - its a miraculous place
So, cat avatar work, washing machine and pruning all done.
Note to self: ginger moggie from facebook onto the main blog, please. And keep on thinking about Linked In.
I'm working on the phone at 3pm, and desperate to wash my hair after that, so either side of those jobs, I'll be considering the avatar for the other blog, taking some experimental photos, you've got to use your own photos for this stuff - I don't want to have to acknowledge a licence every time I use an avatar
Need to digest a bit first, so staying on here for a while2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hmmm, I slept really well, but haven't done much today - a long piece of work, washing machine on, bit of cleaning, survey from yougov, and one from the new nectar thing, and thats that, the rest of the time was faffing. Except: ta-da, my business partner was interviewed by a reporter, and the visits to our website almost tripled
he managed to keep my name out of it as well, bless - usually he introduces me before he introduces himself
Ugh, I don't fancy doing any blog work right now. Of any description  or even the financial admin. Looking back at my lists, the only thing I can bear to do is "research" P2P (a.k.a. mooching), so I'll have a look at the thread on here
ETA - nope, couldn't do that either. Financial admin (and eating!) it is .... very norty day ...
2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I *did* do financial admin yesterday, filing the papers for the tax return I made last month, and throwing away useless duplication. Since the out of date papers I threw, dating back to 2009-10, had loads of mystery shop paperwork in them, the 2014-15 paperwork is only half the size :j
Today is garlic giveaway book day. I may have spent an hour on pinterest last night having fun with garlic pins :rotfl: I can't help it, I love rootling about the interweb.
Going to *use* the research today, though2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Slightly blah day today, for various reasons, but one wonderful accomplishment
: my annual membership to my professional organisation has just gone out, and so I've cancelled it for the future - I won't need it next year, after all :j:j:j
The garlic book, hmmm, I've managed [STRIKE]120[/STRIKE]* words, a *lot* more downloads (Cornell University, who knew!) and several pix that can be used. I think my word count has had it for today, but I can certainly cope with downloading pix, that'll be good. Realistically, I'm pleased, *and* I went to get an Amazon parcel of vitamins the facebook group I was inducted into recommended. Here's hoping.
Off into the garden now, a bit more fresh air is indicated.
* ETA: 1200, I did 1200 garlic words!

Hello KC ... hope you got some fresh air. I've restricted myself to the last few pages of your diary for catchup
GREAT and wonderful accomplishment re cancelling your subs after this year ... how fab that you are under 30 weeks now. Made me laugh (sorry, as I know you were vexed) your description of being on hold to prof organisation .... mine is the same; I have learned that I should only phone them when I have something to do to keep me occupied when I hold. TIlly would probably say ironing, but we know better!
And ... shredders. I spray WD40 onto a few bits of paper and put them through periodically. I first read it on the KM thread and it does seem to work. (That said I need to spend some time with tweezers on mine as it has so many bits stuck that it thinks it is full and doesn't turn itself off any more which is very annoying). My biggest current shredder challenge is that small furball has decided it's just too much fun to knock over and spread the pieces everywhere ... it's almost as if she KNOWS they are impossible to clear from round the flat :rotfl:Fleabay + Weebuy + Gumfree since started diary 94 items sold, £649.71 clear profit0 -

Normally they have a light-beam kind of arrangement - cut the beam (with paper) and it starts the motor. Try to find it and clean it - it probably just has gone blind."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

The phone was bugging me again yesterday
speaking to my business partner, he gave an interview to a journalist who then turned out a not-bad article, and I was showing him the effects on hits on our website. Except he couldn't be bothered to actually hold the phone in his hand, so he put me on speaker when he was making his lunch. Fine for him, not fine for me. And I think *I* offended *him* when I said I was worried about him carrying on working because he didn't know who he was if he didn't do that. I'm thinking a 69 year old therapist should have a better grasp of who he is than to say that, but even I'm not going to go as far as to say in in those actual words :eek::eek: just on here!
So eventually I went out into the garden and played merry hell with the horrible cherry laurel at the bottom of my garden. That was good - there's still lots of weeding to do in the bottom half of the garden (its crept up while I focussed on brambles ) but the whole chipping away at things is helping. The crappy table has almost gone, I jumped on the rickety table top :j and it cracked in halfthat was good.
