I'd forgotten about the chocolate-for-every-meal thing in Belgium
I'm visiting a friend there in January so I'll make sure I take full advantage
Nothing financial to report today, no planned spends other than work travel and not many more days left of that! :money: Last day 3 weeks today! :j :j0 -
Oops, sorry KC, got carried away waffling and thought I was posting on my own diary, I do apologise!!0
-
But that's rather nice Cheery, I like that!
Finding it tough going this morning, I could really do with a Belgian breakfast right about now, but as I confessed to someone earlier in the week, I literally can't keep chocolate in the house, it just *goes*. Actually, I have cocoa. No, that won't do, I need something fancier in silver foil. Tunnocks teacakes from the local express shop, that'll do it2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi Karmacat, having "met you" on another thread I am taking up your invitation to de-lurk and officially pop in and say hello.:D
It is great to read of so many good positive things going on in your life after your illness, I hope that things keep going from strength to strength.
And thank you for the good wishes :kisses3:You are doing so much better in the garden than I am. OH and I have quite large gardens back and front, one of the reasons for buying this house 4 years ago, although lame I was reasonably healthy and didn't envisage the rotten year that I have had (a collection of chronic illnesses, joint problems etc), but I feel that I too may be turning a corner:D OH is not a gardener, but deals with the grass, and all very heavy jobs under instruction, all I have to do to keep his nose to the grindstone is to keep producing large quantities of cake:rotfl::rotfl:Sorry no cats here, so cannot contribute, just one very gorgeous canine fur baby (pictured in the avatar).

oooh, I love a tunnocks teacake! :j :j One of my favourite things in the world
mostly only have them on holiday though, i'd eat nothing else if I kept them in the house all the time!
Did you have a rough night then, or is it just one of those mornings? x0 -
Work was rough yesterday, Cheery, that's all, but I'm really feeling it in my symptoms, I just don't have the resilience to cope with bad days any more.
Tunnocks, on the other hand - I'm very lucky the shop is so near, because they store all the chocolate for me
Last client leaves at 2.45, I'll make a beeline for it then :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Actually, its as if the universe knows about this stuff - I've just had an email from a guy I was in contact with last year, an author who's a real authority on the kind of stuff I do (and on what's ailing me today), asking if I live in Toronto and can we have a cuppa coffee :coffee:2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Sorry that you are having a tough time, I hope that you are on your way to seek out those Tunnocks:D
It's odd, but I have pretty much lost my taste for chocolate:(, I had converted to the 85% stuff a few years ago, but that is languishing in the fridge, will turn it into rocky road for OH sometime, but life is not all gloom and doom, in trying to regain some lost weight I treat myself to a large bag of Th0rntons original toffee each week, all to myself too:j:j OTH I could easily become addicted to Tyrells posh crisps (locally produced), rather than graze my way through a large family size bag (over 2 quid!), I have to dole out sensible sized portions to myself:rotfl::rotfl:
A Skype'd coffee with the guy into Toronto?

Such a lot's being going on since I last looked in:T
maddiemay.:j:j:j for T's Special Toffee. My Dad's favourite, I took him a box of assorted toffee whenever I went to visit. Surprisingly, he still had all his own teeth at 80:rotfl:. Their HQ and factory used to be in Sheffield when I was a teenager and a student friend had a holiday job there. Bliss!
KC, lovely idea about the Toronto coffee offer. Nice Canadian holiday maybe when you're a lady of leisure?;)
Tunnock's Teacakes:j:j:j. I bought a pack when they were on special offer last year (happily they are always on offer somewhere or other:T). Was it the Olympics opening ceremony that had the dancing Tunnocks in it? I know I saw it somewhere and thought it was really sweet but wondered what on earth anyone watching in other countries made of it:rotfl:0
