Loving the help, thank you :kisses3::kisses3:

I did my own slow version of all that :) watched the end of the film, and did a 5 minute clean of the stuff that had been stuck on the most-used kitchen counter for an eternity. Looks nicer!

Oddly, I hardly use the bath any more - the only way I'd have a bath is if I first had a shower, but I lurve soaking in the bath, I should do that more often.

Salt and oil is a really good idea - a lot cheaper, and a lot less energy-intensive, than Liz Earle!

Today is the mega-work day, and even tomorrow has 2 sessions, so I have to space out the activity and the rest phases.

The situation in Brussells seems to be affecting the whole country. A cruise ship due to dock in Zeebrugge missed that port completely,

I can understand that, sadly. It'd be hard to relax into a holiday atmosphere when such a big security operation is going on so close. Belgium is a tiny, tiny country geographically, you can zip through it almost without noticing on the motorway - they must all feel it :(

I have been a long time lurker and had to delurk to comment re the Belgium discussion. I am a Brit who has been living in Belgium for the last 6 years. I live about an hour and a half from Brussels, where we are seems to a whole different place, while Brussels is on the highest alert of 4 the rest of us are on a 3. It seems that the biggest part of Belgium that has been affected was Brussels due to it being the largest city with the biggest airport and population. I didn't hear anything on the news about zeebrugge but I can imagine why they missed the port. The other parts of Belgium seem to be carrying on as normal, the city I live in the train services are still running as normal and no places or services have been closed. To me it feels like it is happening to another place altogether.

Thanks for that muppets, I appreciate the delurk! Good to know that that's the case, that the rest of the country is in normality - after all, the whole of the UK is also at the second highest alert status, like Belgium.

I stayed in Brussels once, when a friend of mine married a Belgian vet, and I've been there a couple of other times too, I love the atmosphere. I'm glad to know things are okay where you are.

In the news this morning, it sounds like Brussels is reopening, but the alert level is still at its highest, and the military are still on the streets. Let's hope some kind of positive resolution can be found.

  • Thanks for that interesting information, muppets:T. I'm a bit of a lurker here too, venturing out for the occasional post, although I do follow the action by reading every day:T

Sending best wishes to you and all who are in Belgium at the moment, with fervent hopes that the situation there (and everywhere else in the world where innocent people are living in a state of anxiety) comes to a peaceful solution:beer:

I love Belgium too:T. We used to stay with relatives who were working in Holland and they loved nothing better than driving from The Hague where they were based into Belgium, Brussels in particular. They took us lots of times. Happy days:j

Lovely to hear of the sparrows, KC. I can picture the scene:T. I love sparrows. We had so many in our garden this year, more than ever before, (bucking the national decline in numbers obviously;)) but most of them seem to have flown away along with the house-martins:(. Can't blame the cat for this one, he isn't very interested in birds. He likes to chase unsuspecting little furry creatures:eek:. Try to find a bit of 'you' time in what sounds like a busy couple of days:beer:

You are a veritable inspiration for it KC! :D LOve it that you watched Harry Potter yesterday :D I love those films :D Might dig them out to watch myself over the Christmas break :D Lovely late afternoon thing to do.

We've not had many birds in the garden for months! I know it's been the summer, and we have an extremely small garden, but we usually have quite a lot. Got bird food back out on the bird table outside the kitchen window but aside from one dunnock and a squirrel, it's been empty. Most odd.

    Have a jolly day! :)

Hope the mega work day went well.

I too love baths but don't often take the time for one ... also a great way to get warm at this time of year :)

Herding cats - or getting kittens to walk in a row - is one of my favourite expressions :rotfl::rotfl:

And among the many great things about Brussels (at least for a weekend) is that you can just about justify chocolate for breakfast - and most meals ....
