Aaaw, KC, you're so sweet:A. You've had enough on your plate recently without worrying about the rat. I constantly beat myself up about not feeding every thin stray cat that tries to sneak in to my home (presumably because it can tell there's cat food to steal). Once they've crossed the threshold and eaten anything I know it's impossible to shoo them off the next time. So I never give them the opportunity to come inside at all but in warmer weather when the back door is always open it's a nightmare:eek:. If I leave food outside for them somewhere they get braver and risk the next step of coming in when they call again. One cat is enough to cope with money-wise. My boy could eat for England:eek:

Excuse my ignorance but I've never heard of Falling Skies so haven't a clue who Jimmy is :o but I really love the quote. I've written it in my diary (I'm still a pen and paper girl for things like that;)) so I don't forget it.

Take care of yourself :kisses3:and let's both hope the sun starts shining soon. I think I can detect a slight tinge of very pale blue in the sky here as I type this:j:j:j

Ewwww to dead things on patios!

A few months ago we found a pigeon minus it's head in the garden - it was horrid - made OH deal with it & he's the squeamish one! ;) I've since adopted it's mate who's hung around our garden & eats the leavings from under the birdfeeder so sometimes gets a handful of seeds to supplement it's scrounging (shh - don't tell OH - he thinks they are pests).

Our ark is ready for action - shame we only have sheep nearby to stock it with :D We'll swing by & pick you up when we float by...

Avocado apliances... I feel for anyone who has them... across the pond Mom's kitchen appliances are from the mid-60's and were top of the line at the time (my gran picked them) - let's just say they will stay put until they breakdown - I may have grandchildren of my own by then...

Now shall we discuss the cotton candy pink bathroom suite - with matching tiles & paint? Again - picked as they were super stylish in their day:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Oh the horror of it all!:D

no sign of letting up here. Definitely ark weather :)
Astonishingly wet today! It stopped here just long enough for me to do some tidying - pruning a tree so I could get into the garden more easily, pulling up some of those dratted alpine strawberries that sow themselves an inch apart (and I put some mulch down on the bare soil, then branches, I'd disturbed quite a few worms :j and I don't want cats digging there :D

Aw, thanks CBC! I know its not realistic, I had a chat to the Powers That Be and explained the situation.

Glad you liked it! Its a science fiction series :o set in modern America; a year after an alien invasion, Jimmy is killed - a little 13 year old boy. It's Executive Produced by Steven Spielberg, and he's managed to stop being so horribly sentimental - witness killing a 13 year old!

Yep, I think I had the same one :j

Oh my word! I sometimes find a lot of feathers in the garden (a **lot** - all in one place, where something has either died or been eaten _pale_ ) but this is the first time I've had to deal with a whole body ...

The pink! Yes, everyone talks about avocado but there was pink as well! And indeed, utter horror :D My mum and dad moved house after they retired, so they lost the avocado-ness very early on. And I've never had it, thank heavens :rotfl:

    What fun :rotfl:

Morning all! Got two hours of paid work this afternoon, but only starting at 1.30, which is easier than midday. Did the d/w last night, and the w/m first thing this morning (it was out on the line before 9am!!!).

Yesterday, I continued the weeding in the back garden too - because of these mad alpine strawberries, I can never just pop out and pick some fresh herbs, they'd completely taken over, so my ruthlessness is uncontained :D except that I'm carefully nurturing the worms and also the lambs tongue plant, which I adore :j Sedge and strawberries, though, can sod off :D Just found two sets of bulbs that the strawbs had overwhelmed, so thats great.

Today, cleaning, hopefully more pruning, those 2 hours work, 3 phone calls, one of which I've done already. To come: trying to convince my mother, after a phone call with my brother, that if she takes herself off to A&E, then actually her children really do want to know. You'd think that was a no-brainer. Nope, not in my family!

    Sounds like a busy day.

Hope your mum was ok, I used to spend most of my time worrying about my parents as they got older :(

Thanks Goldie! She's okay right now, though I haven't rung her in the end today because my brother wants to, and he's a bit upset. I'll give her a bell tomorrow.

Really tired today, I may have done a bit much yesterday :o but it felt great. Managed to do a bit more today, collecting all the fallen leaves at the front - lots more leaf mulch this time next year :j

Thanks both - I'm not too bad (I feel like an old lady saying, ooh, me arthritis is givin' me gyp, but I mustn't grumble!) :p

I'm pretty good as long as I'm at home and I can pick and choose what I want to do. This morning, I went into town to do the banking (tho the machine broke down which caused all sorts of shenanigans and left me a bit bad tempered :o:o:o), and I put some stuff into the charity shop as well, plus frozen veg etc. Had a rest, then did more cutting back of the front garden border, made headway in a new spot :j the noisy neighbours stopped to chat, and I talked to *both* of them - its their adult kids who're noisy, with the tv at 1- 2am etc. They were really good about it, and we chatted about lots of stuff too.

So I'd call that a really good morning :j:j:j

This afternoon, I'm chickening out of one of the phone calls yet again (I think I'll stop mentioning them :D) tho I can message the bank and catch up on the blog.

Decluttering and tidying are both pootling away in the background - I feel like doing lots (which is **fantastic**, to feel like that ) but I'm also shattered. Just have to carry on pacing myself. And eating :p
