Took me 5 years to get to £50 on you gov.
Really never again!0 -
Hello RT! Coffee at home while watching the gardener, perfect
Al - I know what you mean, but when I started this latest push, I was 80% of the way there, to my 2nd £50 - I'm now maybe 85% of the way there? As you say, never again! I got my Miss Princess mug from Maximilesand thats that for that one, as well
Jam is refusing to set. Not following a recipe may have something to do with itwhich is definitely associated with lack of minimalism (i.e., clutter everywhere in the kitchen ). So I compensated and started trimming back the box hedge - its overlapping the garden by about six feet
not a good look. Trouble is, evening work on the garden makes me feel hungry again :rotfl:

...
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Did I mention he's included in the rent? along with his ride-on mower and hedge trimmer?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
He said our lawn was still too dry - SIGH - so I went round with a pair of clippers and a weed digger and tackled the worst of them - also pruned a couple of bushes and the suckers off the lilac tree. It's been a gardening evening at ours as well!
OH came home from work and helped haul all the garden waste to the landlord's bonfire pile. Spied some raspberry bushes in the landlady's lovely garden as well as an espalier apple tree! Wonder if she'll be inclined to share when harvest time comes by?:D I'd be happy to forage in her garden!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! What a wonderful situation
:j
My raspberry canes have stopped fruiting, but I think they're ready for another flush :j
Been doing a minimal amount of tidying up, and actually been out to Sainsbo! Shopping came to exactly £25, very oddstocking up on a few things and filling bare shelves, but I like doing it first thing.
Already had my quota of sun for the day, so can't really go out - I've decided that when I'm faffing around at home, I'll do decluttering on the weekend, if I'm here - I love creating space
However, I can still stop faffing to have a read of all the threads :cool:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Just emailed the website that I think CBC told me about - crazyabout magazines? 21 SFX magazines I've given house space to for a looooooooong time ... we'll see if they want any of them.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Happy decluttering. A lot of that going on here too.0

Even though I'm supposed to have finished decluttering, I still keep finding oddments.
I've identified some clothes that I haven't worn at all this year, and I don't think I'll wear them again, as they just don't seem 'right'. I'll probably eBay them in September. August seems to be quieter on eBay, as I expect everyone's on holiday
Hope you get a positive response on the SFX mags - I would think there must be a good market for that sort of thingEarly retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
I've got loads more decluttering to do as well. Started well, but have stopped to "tidy" which has meant random shoving of items into cupboards to make the surfaces look clearer.0
-
Thanks Al, thanks Goldie
there *is* a lot going on, isn't there, and it seems to be with people at all stages of life, not just retiring ... I definitely think there's a conscious impulse that people want to simplify, or at least concentrate on enjoyment and usefulness, very like William Morris. Clever bloke, that
Hi MrsE! That's a good point about tidiness - decluttering can definitely bollix tidinessin fact, that's the problem I'm having right now in the kitchen - I'm trying to fit in more of what belongs there, as opposed to it spreading into the office, and it creates a lot *more* clutter, temporarily
of course, me having about 30 projects on the go all at once doesn't help
Yesterday, for instance, I was researching about keeping counselling notes - when you've worked at it for as long as I have, some clients have died, sadly ... but I've now found out that makes no difference to keeping the notes! I think envelopes can be safely disposed of (and yes, they're there!) but that's about it.
I listened to a great webinar yesterday from a Canadian woman named Kyla Roma about listening to your "market" and how to go forward from there, and guess what, Mrs E's advice about Pinterest was echoed by her - but Mrs E got there first for me :j thank you honey!
Today, hmmm, too sunny to be out for very long, and as Goldie says, ebay is quiet right now, so not too much point putting things up there. I might just have to go out and have some fun2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
...decluttering can definitely bollix tidiness....
How very true!
OH and I have a weekly battle when I attempt to create order by spreading a said category (i.e. mail or spices or clothes) out in piles for a few hours to sort & decide what gets gifted/recycled/donated vs kept/used/stored. He then gumbles about the trips to friends places, the charity shop or the tip only to come home and say 'that's another job jobbed':rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
A big part of our clutter involves things we've been gifted that we thought might come in handy one day... lesson learned - they don't! Now I'm a lot more careful about accepting anything I don't have an immediate use for!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
