Enough to pay off half of my mortgage would change my life.
    Fact.
    Well a girl can dream.
The only mortgage I have is the French one, and half of that is only about £9k, so not lifechanging - but it would certainly help my pension :j:j:j

So, KC, about that sealant........... used it yet?
B*gger, when I saw your name I knew you were going to ask that :o:D:o:D:o:D Its rainy today, and I don't much want to go out, so I was genuinely going to pay attention to the haybox, but *now* I'm going to have to empty the cupboard under the kitchen sink and do **that**!

No, I haven't done it yet. I'm a bad person, and my DIY is shamefully unfinished. If you're reading this, you should have been doing your DIY too :D:D:D

  • Rainy here too, Karmacat:(. Plans for anything outdoorsy put on hold for now. Wish I'd made more of an effort yesterday when the sun was out:o. What is it George Osborne keeps saying, something about mending the roof when the sun is shining? Lesson learned here I think!

Was invited to do a quick survey online last night immediately after the televised Leaders' Debate ended. Watched the programme avidly ( I just love anything political:j) but was amazed at the final results of the various polls. Such a variety of opinions. Made we wonder if we'd all been watching the same Debate:eek:. Just goes to show how subjective these polls are.

Oh polls, totally. As for the party politics, at least, you've lost me there - I overdosed on it all in my 20s, never got the urge back. I keep an eye on the issues that have the potential to affect me, like Greece (because of the euro thing) and Russia/Ukraine, for its potential effect on the energy market, but otherwise, nothing.

I was thinking about you last night CBC, about the hard work for the Make £10 A Day challenge - I'm looking at the matched betting again this morning, and last night I did a survey from Betfair that had the first prize of £500 in Amazon vouchers, just did it while the pasta was boiling :) Starting small, and all that! I'll do a bit more today.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I thought you'd got lost, I was about to email you. Hiya :hello::hello::hello:

Not lost - just distracted - if truth be told fiscal year end did me in this week - down two staff:mad: - and bossman & I only in the same office for 2.5 days!

Nevermind - 'tis all over!:j:j:j - Next (this) year the budget I manage is all on my own - no input from unwanted sources!:D:D:D

Today is a REAL holiday - OH making bottom of the fridge spanish omlette for brunch and I'm sitting on my backside after a glorious lie-in & a nice hairwashing session - Simple pleasures!

...on the found money front - I've 'found' about £150 pounds of various coupons - m&s - te$co - manufacturer's - n£ctar - so that's an unexpected treats budget winfall - amazing what happens when I sort through paperwork & file/recycle in the appropriate place!:j:j:j
    4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)
(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)
    ...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)
New projection - 14 YEARS 7 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 17 mths)
  • Thanks for thinking about me, KC. I'm genuinely touched:kisses3:

I hope I made it clear that the £10 a Day Challenge isn't literally £10 every day:o. So long as it averages out over the month (i.e. £310 for a 31-day month) the challenge is achieved. I go for a whole week sometimes with nothing to declare, then maybe a long-awaited survey redemption hits my Paypal account or I sell something on Amazon etc. Some challengers seem to be struggling and then declare their month's overtime from work and surpass their target in one fell swoop.

Why not join us? It's such a friendly and supportive group of lovely people (just like on your thread:A). You might surprise yourself, I know I certainly did:j

I used to do it all the time, CBC, when I was paying off the UK loan for the dratted French apartment, and a cc for the laptop when the computer went bang ... I'm not up for doing surveys and stuff, except where I'm partway to the finish, and I don't have much physical energy either these days, which is why I'm plotting so hard about writing in various forms, and matched betting (still/again/still, you know what I mean :D). But yes, that *big* community is priceless ... I've definitely decided to go for 888 for the m.b.ing, but I need to contact them first, so I'll go over to the £10 a day thread ... see what you've got me doing now :j see you over there.

In between nipping about online and cooking lunch, phoned 8 eight 8 on their freefone number, and I *do* have a sports account, good job I checked. Still, can join games/casino/poker ( at poker!) and still get the £12 no deposit bonus. Will study what games are best :D

I can hear the garden calling out to me ...
