Blanche sounds like you'd be Lady Blanche Sudley, but Eva May sounds as if you'd be Mrs Sudley, the cook!:rotfl:

Lurvely sleep last night - as befits Lady Blanche :rotfl: - but got to work like Mrs Sudley todayso not a huge amount of dfw work going on, but I will set up to do the photos. Anything after that is dooyoo
And if any millionaires pass by, just let them know where I am, will you? I'm in the sun lounge, applying fake tan2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Sorry to have been AWOL for so long but have been delivering Phone Books to make a bit of extra cash. Feeling totally knackered now it's over, what with all the carrying, walking and contending with icy gale-force winds and the occasional hailstorm. Not to mention a few blisters on my toes:eek:. And now it's all over and I don't have to go out the sun is shining and the wind has dropped. Typical:(. I can't even face a walk or gardening today, I just want to sit and read, drink lots of tea and enjoy being with my cat for the first time in ages.
Have just had a catch-up of the posts that I hadn't seen. What fun you have here on Karmacat's thread:dance:. How I've missed my daily smiles!0 -
Welcome back, CBC! I'm glad it feels like a fun place to pop in
though you sound *exhausted*! Phone books are little these days, but carrying round a lot must be very heavy, and very tiring
Loving the thought of you sitting and relaxing with your cat - on your knee? My eldest cat used to stretch out on top of me when I was lounging watching tv - her back legs behind her, her front legs wayyyy out in front, she stretched from my hips to my ankles, it was a sight to behold
Bit of a tricky time here today, I confess - just after I'd written this morning's post, the washing machine went POP and the electrics tripped  I shouldn't have carried on using it, probablybut I didn't think a software fault would make it do that
Anyway, appointment is booked for Monday, Parts Guarantee isn't worth the paper its written on (though at least I didn't pay for it) and I'm taking out a parts, labour and replacement-with-a-new-machine-if-necessary guarantee for £150, instead of paying the callout charge of £110.
Had to undo the whole kitchen to unplug the miscreant, to discover the dishwasher has a little leak (probably because I've never cleaned the filter, or whatever it is) and the kettle has been leaking for so badly for so long, it has limescale on the *out*side :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: though I stopped laughing when I nearly killed my travel kettle, that I pulled out of storage at about 3pm. Didn't fill it properly
Anyway, newspaper all over the floor, everything is everywhere, all the good plans for today have gone kablooey.
The thing is, though, everything is fixable :j the call centre peeps were actually [STRIKE]quite [/STRIKE] very nice, and I've brought it all on myself - cleaning and maintenance are both definitely in the category of "I could never see the reason why my parents did this stuff, but now I know - if you can *see* the reason, its too late" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You too, beanie? Its not a good look, is it :rotfl: I find I'm finally at the stage that people talk about, where unless there's just too much (like with the cluster flies when hopefuljoy rescued me!) I don't get pulled down by it any more, which is a real relief :j
Been catching up on a bit of writing, I'd been making notes on my phone when I got all enthusiastic, so I'm having a ball2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I have to admit, I'm not strong on 'maintenance' cleaning either. As long as something works, and externally looks clean and neat, I'm not so bothered about the innards!:rotfl:Early retired - 18th December 2014

Don't go for the expensive guarantee - just buy the cheapest machine you can get and replace if necessary :T.
Another 'no maintenance till necessary' here and I certainly won't be cleaning out the washing machine filter - it's only the dirt and fluff holding it together.
How's the fly situation?A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
