Thanks Squirrel! It is, indeed - though I must say, the income situation is a bit drastic. And sometimes I have so little work, it feels like the new life has already started

Still, today is the last day I'll be finishing up from last year and preparing space to be able to work properly - from Monday, its full speed ahead to new income streams, as no matter how low I get my outgoings, I'm still taking from savings.

Anyway, the list is written out in my diary, I had a good night's sleep, and I'm going to have ten minutes or so looking around on here while I :coffee: then its reconnect the laptop in the office and work on forms that need to be printed to be filled in and scanned, stuff like that.

And a walk in the sun at lunchtime :)

Isn't it lovely! I haven't been out yet, I confess, but I'm just about to get myself in gear :)

Glad you said that - I feel it, too :j

Good grief :p thats a lot of boss-communication! Excellent to work from home though - how much time is your usual commute, RT? Cheery has a pretty long time of it, I know, I suspect yours is up there too. I felt happy enough when I stopped working in North London once a week, I'd dread it every day

    Today I have:
    - printed French accountant's form, filled it in, scanned it, and sent them off all my documents - by email :j no other cost involved.
    - opened the post :o no horrors there :p
    - decided to ignore the fogger - I'll use it if the flies appear again, when it warms up, but right now I don't think its necessary any more, there's only a couple a day :j
    - emailed bro and sis about social stuff.
    - used the washing line again for some soggy washing - I can't believe I have a washing line :j
    - printed out the new lease for the French apartment that I have to sign. This one has to be sent by post, but I'm not doing that today, I want to get out there walking :D
    - just spent an hour posting up a 1700 word article! I thought I'd written it already, but every time I checked the links, there was more to fiddle about with :rotfl: done and dusted now :)

Thanks to Watty for the recipe orange cake- it's noted in my recipe Word document, so I can have a go when I feel in the mood for a cake!

Just looking at the Dooyoo site. I went through a stage of reviewing things on Trip Advisor, and quite enjoyed it, so Dooyoo appeals. I like that it's possible to review virtually anything.

I might give it a go, at some point. I have lots of opinions, and don't mind sharing them!

Hope you got out for a nice walk today, it's been very pleasant outside

Hee hee - I work in one of those "modern" offices - we all sit together in one big room! - they have done away with the executive corner office - we all get windows - no doors or partition walls but lots and lots of windows - Bossman sits on the other side of the partition from me normally - we talk a lot every day - he gets withdrawal when I'm away;):rotfl: - quite sweet really!

Regular commute to 'normal place of work' is 1 hour from the time I shut my front door until the time I'm sat at my desk with a cuppa!

Big smoke commute well that is another story altogether! Can be up to 2 hours on a bad day (like yesterday morning) or as quick as 1 hour as most of the return journeys are, thanks to the express trains!!!

Today I saved 2 hours journey there and back!:j:j:j I'm a lot less tired than I would have been otherwise & have really enjoyed the quiet!

You've had such a productive day! Am well impressed with your efforts KC. - Is the article for one of your other income streams? - Writing for a living facinates me!

Yep, Dooyoo is really good for subject matter, if you use the search button, you can find almost anything - you do have to make sure it isn't in Archives, however, as they come up in searches, but you don't get paid for anything about an archived subject.

Beautiful weather, isn't it! I did get out there, I try to do longer walks now, since that recommendation came out about 30 minutes 5 times a week. I took a roundabout walk to the outskirts of a nearby village (to a big charity furniture shop, which made an interesting destination at least!).

Ooh, RT, those modern offices - I did sit in a big huge office at one place, but only quite briefly. And of course, that was a million years ago :D At the big charity I worked for, I managed the temporary jobs created by government money to get unemployed people off the dole, and I ended up with my own little empire across the road from the main building, complete with my own little accounts department :D they were really chuffed when I left to retrain for this job I do now, because they didn't expect it to be so big and bring so much money in - I was a bit junior for that level of dosh :p

Always hated the journeys until I could find a seat and read, or even knit

Yep, the writing is for another **planned** income stream - nothing as yet! It'll be monetised, and the book will be published, and I'll get my fiction out the same way eventually. I plan big, but I'm not particularly good at seeing things through and keeping them going, I'm a lot more "circular" than that - lots and lots of interest that come and go through a revolving door :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: a scanner, it might be called these days ...

Between the above topics, and the cats, and dooyoo, and hopefully elance too, I hope its a good mix of immediate cash and long term growth. I aim to become the next John Wyndham, though I wouldn't turn my nose up at being the next EL James :j

Just wandering about on the web .... Leonard Nimoy died today, at his home in Los Angeles. He created a wonderful character, and he was a good man himself. I met him briefly at his autograph table at London Excel. RIP Leonard.

Afternoon folks ... dearie me, what a terrible day weather-wise! I meant to go to Egyptology today, but I really didn't fancy getting out of the house mid-afternoon and across the other side of the county just to listen to a lecture, I was a bit stir-crazy, so I popped to a local mall and had a wander around one of those two-storey Wilko shops :rotfl: bought a million tealights as well.

And discovered, on the last day of eligibility, that I "won" 500 nectar points on my last trip to Sainsbo, so I bought some cheese on the way home, and input the voucher. Thats £2.50, I used an existing voucher, so the cheese actually cost me a credit of £1.07 :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: sort of like Germany's bond rate at the moment :D

Still raining ... at least I'm warm, fed and dry again. I didn't quite finish tidying up yesterday, so thats all I'll be doing for the rest of today, so I have a day off tomorrow, and start in seriously on the income patchwork on Monday :)

Hope everyone has a good weekend, in spite of the weather :A

    I'd say that's a fruitful day!:D

Isn't that the truth :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: very fruitful indeed :j

The afternoon has continued fruitfully - I didn't mean to do this, but I seem to have completely re-organised the six-shelf bookcase in the kitchen that stands in for kitchen units :D Re-organised in terms of accessibility needs :j especially if I'm going to use the table for design stuffywotsits ...

    And a decluttering declaration :j
    48 lots more A4 paper
49 another sack of shredded paper
50 another pair of worn out bedsox
    51 two dvds
    53 repetitive gardening book
54 collapsible steamer that I never ever use - I've got a proper over-the-pan one.

Chuffed at that :D More pesto in celebration!
