Breaking Through, Travelling On

Strange you should mention misbehaving domestic appliances. Our kettle is on it's last legs, I think. It's been leaking sporadically for a while, and now it's reluctant to switch off when it boils. We'll probably have to get another one soon........ But there's quite a few other things on the list as well, what with a new freezer, car service coming up.... And probably new glasses too
We have a washer dryer. In drying mode the drum squeaks as it turns. As I rarely use it as a dryer, I'm turning a blind eye ( or should I say ear) to this noise.
I'm liking your year plan, by the wayEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Hi Goldie! My kettle leaks horribly too ... its a fairly expensive metal one, I used to use my dinky plastic travel one, which is a million years old. Sorry I switched!
I'm really lucky in relation to glasses - at the cost of practically no depth vision, because my eyes focus at different lengths, I've avoided glasses altogether. I can't read small print on Quorn packets (or my A - Z of London come to think of it, which is much more relevant) I might need them in a few years' time, its true.
Glad you like the year planI think its pretty balanced, between the now and the future.

I can't get to Nymans with any ease, cos of not having a car, and after all, Wakehurst is free now I have the ticket.... skips off singing "Its been a long time, getting from there to here " (only the science fiction fans might recognise that one).
Aw, that reminds me of this - I could have spent all day in there :rotfl:.but quite a few friends are. I'm more the science fiction convention type-person ... this year, the Worldcon is in Spokane, Washington state, which is a little bit further than London Expo, where it was held last year :rotfl:but the main British con is at Heathrow http://www.dysprosium.org.uk/ They're racing pimped Daleks around an obstacle course
Going to give myself another ten minutes, then get to writing, as per the plan. Its trying to snow round here! I'm sitting a foot away from a nice big radiator, and my feet are *still* cold, grrrr!

I've been dealing with some of the fallout from being ill, in relation to an online situation, and its really not pretty. Its also exhausting. So I'm going to give it another day, see if anything else turns up, and then resign. I feel better just writing that down! Life's too short for any of this carp.
Full day ahead (and the counselling room is still thronged with online shoppingso I'd better go.
Hope everyone has a good day.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
