Another vote for your idea KC, sounds like a go-er :T.Or you could just knuckle down and retire at 65, cos that's what 'normal' people do
. I love the way people on here find alternative ways of doings things :j.
But I have news for you, sorry - normal people, even of my advanced age, retire at 66 :eek::eek: Iknow its not *really* news2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

By the time I retire, the retirement age will be 100 and the school leaving age will be 25..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

The rocket stove, lets leave it. I can't grasp what you're envisioning, and since I have a solution that works for me, it's fine, honestly :kisses3:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning campers! I have a list in my diary ... its all about catching up with people after being ill for so long - emails, texts, phone calls  and for one friend I've neglected shamefully, only an actual, real live letter will do. And I want to return to a couple of forums I used to post on before I got ill...
Otherwise, I think I may have a problem with the washing machine - going to run an empty wash and see if it *will* run  and even the microwave made a funny noise this morning
Finally, its about scanning and decluttering - by the end of this week, I want to be at the stage where I can look at extra income again, like matched betting, as I mentioned to edinburgher. Need to get that going.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I wrote this ages ago, in my house folder ...
1. admin, first off: accounts, insurance renewal, re-accreditation, shredding.
2. garden: being out there is healthy, just breathing, and doing the work. Weeding, pruning, planting (thinking mostly garlic and onions right now), mulching.
3. health routine - a mix of deep breathing, herbal tonics, salt gargling, fresh air, short walks, reiki, stuff like that. Need to remember to focus regularly.
4. cleaning. There's one big job - the mould that was in the porch has spread a little bit, to old silicon seals around the remaining windows I haven't replaced, that sort of thing. Got to do a proper job on that.
5. as I regain strength (and the flu season passes, I'm a bit paranoid) make sure I see people a couple of times a week.
6. get a work routine going again, focussing on therapy work and writing. That should get some income going. I need to put mse diary-reading to break times, not work times
7. decluttering - so that when I retire, I'm free to implement plans, whatever and wherever. But not working so hard at *anything* that I forget to enjoy myself in the present.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Sounds like a good plan just try to remember to take it easy and take care :kisses3:Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Thanks Elli! Absolutely, taking it easy and taking care are crucial. Health specifics are there, and I do enjoy being out in the garden. I even enjoy a moderate social life, when I'm well enough  and I love describing myself as a writer, thats a huge positive for me.
How are you yourself?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Right, update!
1. Done one of the phone calls, appointment made.
2. Apologetic letter written to my friend, I'm just off upstairs to print it.
3. Washing machine tested - there's a software error, apparently, so I'm just going to put some washing in ...
4. Opened the post, no horror stories (its been sitting around for a bit).
5. Biggest of all, I transferred money to France for the apartment in a new way, a company called Transferwise, recommonded by cherisong that used to be on here. No fees, because it was my first use of the company, and a rate 5 cents a euro better than my bank does. Thats quite a bit of dosh, I'm a happy bunny.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Good work! :j :j0
