Dare I say the more the merrier?:o
OH has just tucked himself into the comfy chair with a lemsip and a blankie after spending 1/2 hour sneezing non-stop!:o
Himself has asked for a pair of sale-slippers after finding the sole falling off his well loved ancient pair! Guess I'm back to the virtual sales to part with my [STRIKE]non-existant[/STRIKE] well budgeted money - lol:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:then off to the budget spreadsheet to shuffle some grocery money into the cloths fund...
KC - I have a little sister who keeps trying to lay claim to items in my wardrobe! - Thank goodness for the great pond between us or my capsule wardrobe would be missing essentials on a daily basis!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Aw, poor Knit Witch and Mr RT
I'm getting really tired now, sitting up for a long while, so I'm off to relax the whole of me
Gentle hugs and sedate waves to all :A
Christmas lunch was weird but excellent - used a bit of stuffing mix from my last Approved Foods shop (its about a year out of date) with lots of butter in to help it along. Vacuum packed chestnuts - chopped them up and stuck them in the mix, then threw frozen peas in there (am addicted to frozen peas). Then into a buttered dish thats years old but fits into the new halogen! 20 minutes in there, and it was lovely. Off for some Christmas cake now
RT, my sister and I have different styles for work and for leisure, so neither of us are ever tempted to nick things - she's grown more appreciative of my style as we've got older, but I don't think she'll ever wear my stuffnor I hers
though we do wear the same sort of posh ( = wedding type) dresses

:hello:Evening all
Thanks for popping bythe cake was lovely thanks, RT - my sister bought me a little square when she knew I was going to be stuck here. I'm not fit to actually cook anything yet, so today I had the weirdest concotion - creme des marrons, swizzed up chestnuts, with soya cream. I confess, it was delicious :j And for lunch I had oatcakes, some with cheddar and pickle, some with **really** thick cut marmalade. My taste buds have been in heaven today :j
I had thought I'd test walking to the end of the road and back, but decided not to, stayed in the house and just tidied up a bit. I haven't had a holiday at all, of course, but what *is* nice is that I'm not struggling to get well so that I can see clients. 's really cold out there.
Beanie, I don't usually have cake, I confess - I like mincemeat, more or less the same ingredients but wetterAnd Watty, sorry the lurgy's got you, I hope it *is* simply sniffles and Christmas come-down, not an all-out plague type thing ... life, hey?

Mmmm - this no cooking lark sounds heavenly! Cheese & crackers & spreads definately my idea of a wonderful meal!
I'm home this week:jbut still lurgified so taking it easy & having a bowl of broth and some (greatly reduced) toasted soda bread. - will look at the files I brought with me at some point, but not today!
OH has started back working today - after six months of applying - yeah for having found something and in his field- but poor man he's just gone and caught my viral cough yesterday:eek: on top of the cold he picked up from somewhere - packed him off this morning with the last of the Str£p$ils, a travel mug of bru, some plain ole sarnies & for 'pudding' a mince pie - let's hope that tides him over until he can come home and collapse under the blankies! I'll have a hot toddy ready to go when he arrives - how 1950's housewife eh?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Hope you are feeling much better KC & relaxing with a stack of Sci-Fi DVD's!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! :hello: Hi Tilly :hello: Hi CBC, thanks for posting - I'm doing better, actually, I walked around the block this morning, 10 minutes or so at a slow pace, and felt good doing it. Am definitely in the recovery phase now, so the question is how much to do and not do, which is much better than "how many boxes of tissues shall I have open"
:hello: Hi RT - yep, no cooking can be great, as long as you've got the flavoursbroth and soda bread sound good tho (ooh, soda bread sounds lovely). I am indeed mucking about with SF DVDs - Season 1 of Stargate at the mo, where Daniel pitches up in the alternate reality
Your poor OH! That sounds horrendous. I do feel a bit stressed by work now myself - "only a week till I'm back", that sort of thing - possibly because I haven't actually had any holiday, and possibly because I really should be leaving it behind, and I can't yet. Hey ho. I'll figure out a way forward.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
