So nowhere in their response do they sauy the sites are misleading like you continually highlight, it does say that it relies on people not reading the website, that'll be mugs like you then?

Fyi, I am repeating this probably the 10th time, its not me saying they are MISLEADING, it is the ASA themselves. To pacify the flare you are exhibiting by calling names - here is the link

Also, there seems to be a general problem amongst senior member here trying to understanding what different government departments do.

Trading standards = monitor trade (where there is money transactions involved )
Advertising Standards = Monitor advertisement (mainly sales/marketing technics and take action against those that mislead)

That was a 101 not 'pain injection'. Click thanks if you liked it.:rotfl:

OP, in another guise paid some Information Checking site a quantity of money, without reading the terms and condition. Getting confused and reading the Daley Male, of all available newsprint, prodded us he knew how to close the sites down.

Using words, such as Copy Cat, Misleading, he went on for days, telling us that Trading Standards where about to light their torches and the people were masses to seek reparations against these folk.
Unfortunately, after days of pure intrigue, Trading Standards have given their consiodered thought into this matter, and to use OP's words
At present, it is not illegal for a company to charge for checking forms for government services.

    They further mention
The difficultly is that while I understand you are unhappy with the company, they are essentially relying upon the consumer not to read the information they have provided. While this may seem unfair, it is not necessarily against the law.

Other checking services are available at the Post Office!

I've adjusted the bolding of the quote you made. Overlooking the word "whether" completely changes (erroneously) the interpretation of the statement made.

well done, "whether" is an important connecting word for post#1, but "dispute" is not !!

What happened to the other posters ? ....Come on make it lively here !

OP has proved far and beyond doubt that he knows how to take on folks who bully a consumer saying it is their fault for not reading T&C's.

Oh jeez 'whether' is sort of the important word in this case.

If you want your darn money back go open a dispute and see how far you don't get.
Don't come crying back here when the bank laugh at you for not reading the terms of what you bought.

And what happened to actual real passport forms, that you fill in yourself, check yourself and post all by yourself?
