Since this is a public forum, could you please confirm who you meant by 'they'. Could either be:

    a) people who clicked copycats and realised later that they have fallen trap of a legally-designed rip-off scam OR

    b) Each and every member i.e around 5.5 million passport renewal application that happens every year.

It seems very clear - at least to me - that the 'they' wealdroam is talking about are the 'people' you mentioned as wealdroam's post was a direct comment to yours.
That part of your post was even quoted by wealdroam so I can't see any reason to request clarification.

You mentioned people not paying a premium for a government service, wealdroam merely pointed out that you do actually pay a premium for the 'Check & Send' service and it is recommended by the Government.

Also, was there any need to make the font of 'they' so large?

The price of a first class stamp is 62p from post office.
You can still buy it up-to 10%cheaper from a third party private store.

Likewise, people should never have to pay a premium for a government service at a set price.

Legally speaking, even if copycats advertise government prices next to theirs, that doesn't make them a premium service.
The motive of such establishments are very clear and proven beyond doubt.

Unless they want to take advantage of The Post Office's Passport Check & Send service.

I only mention that because you mentioned the Post Office.

I thought it was quite clear, but of course I am only too happy to explain.

You said "people should never have to pay a premium for a government service" and I replied "Unless they want to take advantage of The Post Office's Passport Check & Send service".

It is quite clear that the 'they' are the 'people' that you mentioned.
Perhaps you need to think about who you meant when you stated 'people'.

See... I managed to say all that without using a large font. ;)

    wealdroam,

If you look at post#7 of yours in this thread, it was very clear who you were intending while writing that post. It was very clear at that time it was aimed at 'people' (i.e consumers) who clicked copycat websites by mistake.

Now you see where I am coming from, and yes - sometimes even larger fonts fail to make impact. ;). I hope it was only a matter of time that has taken to prove a point.

How many times do we need to keep bumping this. I know some around these parishes think it is a worth while cause, but to me it is as blinkered as the current Bad Betty ad nasuam inserts on the TV, exploiting the premonition that the male is the gambling freak, yet ignoring the daytime tirade of bingo adverts!

Yes these site still exist, shall continue to exist while they remain within the law. Yet, some will continue to use their services because they fail in their own common sense, to engage brain prior to opening wallets.

This is the same as other government websites, especially now that all jobs are posted on Universal Job Search, an even bigger scam than the service providers here, that allow unrestricted postings of vacancies by beaver eager hungry agents, all on the book to make money, con, confuse Job Seekers, especially the vulnerable. What hope do we expect the Government to do, when their website does this?

II suppose the engineers of some search facilities deployed by Sauce Useless are still cut out making money from the service providers in ...

There are current court claims dropping through letter boxes, and this thread is one of a few people might find when searching for help. So I have no hesitation in replying if that may increase the chances of people finding above links to possible help. I'm not overly bothered about the rest of the thread.

OK, common sense failed while clicking - Google blocking copycats ads is also a failure for a Brain Of Pigeon in (non)sensical terms.:rotfl:
