Kettle. Pot. Black.
The "ill-knowledge" (is that even a word ? don't think so) is all yours mate
I rhink most people have realised that already.
Just a thought..........maybe you should READ the websites mentioned, seeing as you advocate READING ?? Sort of blows your advice out of the water doesn't it ?
Let's not divert...get back to topic of post#1.
With your "17 years" of "dispute experience", how should I re-word the literature on post#1? that would be of help?0 -
This :
Write to the company requesting a refund. Clearly tell them you are not happy. Please keep copies of all emails and replies received.
Delete everything else.0 -

As I posted several days ago:Some of these websites do offer a full refund and some offer a refund less an admin fee (others say they won't refund at all).
The ones that do offer a refund clearly say on their website what the process is for applying for a refund.
If you take Hpuse's advice (as a 'first step') and don't follow their process, you may not get your refund at all.
I think if you are seriously trying to help people, you should mention that they should check the T&Cs of the specific website they used to see if there is a refund process and, if there is, to follow it.
On other threads, posters have reported that they have received a refund - without the need for all the nonsense described in both the steps in your initial post.0 -

So, what you are saying is, a poor consumer who thinks he was ripped-off should keep quiet about it just because he clicked and agreed to some t&c's?..
Also, why should he "keep" copies of emails and replies if he is not going to do anything about it?0 -

I would imagine - based on the posts by some of the people who have been caught out by these websites - that a 'poor consumer' would want more than anything to get his money back.
The best way to do this - immediately you are aware that you have not used the official website - is to check the T&Cs to see if you can get a refund.
Hpuse - you are just grandstanding with this thread.0 -

@pollycat - I am trying to leverage on "meer53"'s 17 years of dispute experience so that I help someone who think he has had a bad experience and got ripped-off dealing with this company.
I don't think it is grandstanding, as most of you think, I am speaking a 'loads' of rubbish since I do not see I am receiving 'thanks':D.
I also get 'heartbroken' for all the effort I put here when I see others, i.e someone like you with a pile of 'thanks' in their bags for all the helpful postings.
So please, give me a chance to improve, would you now please keep quiet and let me focus on the matter - i.e, improving this thread instead please?
"Thank you" for your patience in advance..0 -

Sorry, Hpuse - public fora don't work that way.
I have given you advice on how you can improve your initial post in this thread.
You just don't want to take it - because you're grandstanding.
Meer's 17 years of dispute experience may not be needed if the website used has a refund policy.
Can you not see that checking the T&Cs is the first step anyone should take?
As for you being 'heartbroken' about your so-called effort, I really would like to 'thank' one of your posts.
I'm just waiting for you to post something sensible and useful. :cool:0 -

Hpuse, I'm quoting post 108 of this thread now with people arguing with you. Does that not tell you that people think this thread is basically a joke?0 -

As much as I hate these websites, the above point is very important.
If I had been charged £72.50 for something I did not want, I'd be happier to get £65 back then !!!! off the website and get £0 back.
As it stands, rightly or wrongly, the law doesn't agree with those who think these sites are wrong, so taking advantage of the websites T&C/Refund policy should be your first action.
Of course, if you can afford to lose £72.50 and don't mind, and want to make a big stand, go for them other ways.0
