My ex tenants (thankfully) are now trying to sue me for the costs they spent decorating the house!! This get more crazy than ever. They decide to decorate, they choose the design and don't ask me then expect me to pay!!

I made it perfectly clear at the beginning of the tenancy that they could decorate on the understanding that it would be at their expense and returned to orig colours etc at the end of the tenancy. They haven't done this

Maybe they missed or chose to miss the last part. I don't think you should have agreed to decoration, unless it was very basic and simple, due to poor condition of property, and then you should have agreed it e.g. the colour, and even supervised it.

I don't know how bad the property looks now? Is it any way improved? Or is looking like a wreck or all painted puce?

If they have done a "nut job" on the property I think you need to get proper legal advice to get your monies etc back. p.s. I don't think they'd get far with suing you.
