I hope someone can give advice. We bought an old second hand Aga 4 oven cooker 13 years ago which had been converted from solid fuel to oil, I would say the cooker is about 40 years old. Now because of the price of oil we cant afford to have it turned on. We would love to know if it can be turned back to solid fuel, if so, is there a special kit which can be purchased for the conversion or instructions available so our local plumber can do the conversion.
Would appreciate advice. Thanks

Is it likely to cost any less to run it on solid fuel?
There was a thread on here not long ago asking the same question...

Thanks for the link. Our plumber is also an engineer, but very busy. if it is possible he will be able to convert. I will show him this information when he comes.
Thank you for your help, much appreciated.0 -
They do not run too well on firewood, you need Anthracite. So unless you have free coal then don't bother. You could look at the Electrickit conversion as this will save you on running costs. www.ccconversions.co.uk0
