Converting an Aga from oil back to solid fuel

Hello, has anyone any idea about the ease and price of converting an ancient Aga back to solid fuel? It's too pricey to run on oil but given its cast iron weight, it's going to be a headache to take it out too. There's plenty of wood for burning but maybe that isn't possible without using coal as well. Any ideas? Thanks.

Solid fuel AGAs were originally designed to run on coke. They aren't really suited to burning wood.

It's possible that, with the current craze for log burning, somebody makes a conversion kit although I would have thought that the firebox would be a bit small and awkward to load. Keeping it lit overnight and producing heat ready for the morning might be tricky too.

If it was originally an oil or gas fired one, then no, it can't be converted.

Thank you for the replies. To the last responder, yes, the Aga was originally solid fuel and was converted to oil back in the 70s. When I say ancient, it really is one of the originals but if I thought I could get away with burning wood and a bit of coal that would be great. It's the ease/cost that I'm not sure about but I shall definitely try these links. Thanks again.
