Ive been trying to add stuff to my basket all morning but just keep getting an error message. I give up and I am not braving town in this rain to try the shops!

Gosh, Swansea Quadrant was worse than I remember, especially the organised groups :shocked:

Nice orderly queue of 100 plus, but one woman did roll under the shutter and it was a stampede up the escalators!

Mostly got what I went for - but as I wasn't aiming for any S&G or the big Champneys bag etc, that was OK.

I've never seen shelf fittings broken off the stand before - shelf ripped onto the floor and contents scooped into a sports direct bag. Classy :silenced:

Luxor, I got there around nine, got the two things I was hoping for for my granddaughters then left, never seen such greed, scooping stuff off the shelves into massive bags then retreating into corners to sort it out. Think it's about time Boots put a limit on the amount you can buy but suppose they would find a way around it.

The Liverpool city centre store was very busy, they had some big gift sets but they where all in peoples baskets when I got there 10 min after opening. I go a eye shadow pallet for me and got the lets paly art box for my little girls birthday.

I went to Liverpool to and yes it was very busy, we were there for opening too!

There was a rack of the large sanctury boxes upstairs too which no-one seemed to have noticed!

Spent around £40 but got loads, there seemed to be quite a bit of variety there too. Again like other stores there was a few arguments and was a pushy shovy due to the size of the isles but wasnt too bad.

One of the good deals though was Duracell batteries they had at the till points, they had the sticker on but wasnt sure if they were reduced, but they were, to £3.60 from £12! These were AA :)

Just back from Leicester and it was horrible!...pushing, shoving, grabing and the aisles were very small making things worse!

I am truly amazed at the amount of things people were taking....there were ladies (though they don't warrant the term ladies) that were filling baskets and running back to give the contents to their husbands who stood waiting at the sides before going back again and again and again! They can't possibly have that many relatives to buy presents for-they all literally had well over a hundred items each :eek::eek: They are obviously selling these things.

I'm sorry to say that a lot of the people at Leicester showed no manners what so ever and today I feel upset for the few, like me, that will be tarred with the same brush.

I'm sorry if i'm being a bit of a bar-humbug...but this spoils thing for everyone else!....not sure if I would do this again:(

I haven't read through the whole thread but this post just sums up for me what it was like where I went (Speke).
It's got worse there year on year... I've been going since about 2005 or perhaps even earlier? And up to about 2011 it was always really civilised, only maybe 10 or 15 shoppers there at opening time, browsing pleasantly standing aside etc. These past say three years it's got steadily worse, to the point of long queues outside the shop, everyone barging the door at 9am, trollies blocking the aisles, women with two or three trollies piled high and just grabbing handfuls of everything off the shelves.
I managed to pick up a few bits for my mum's and other family birthdays, plus one or two party presents for the kids, but that was it. It was a nightmare.
It's become a victim of its own success I think, used to be something I looked forward to with excitement, now I just don't feel like going any more!
  • Omg I went to Oxford retail park store and it was very relaxed! Although not a lot there and I went 45 mins after opening, but no horror stories to tell!
I don't know what the city centre store is like as didn't bother!

Christmas photo baubles 30p each, I should've got more! They were marked as £4.

    It is 70% off.

That was something else that peed me off too!! Minor I know, but I used to be able to work out the price easily by halving and then halving again, it was a nuisance trying to work out what 70% off was!
In the end I did it by working out that the reduced price would be 30p for each pound of the original price! But it's not easy to do on the hop when you're being rammed by trollies left right and centre!!
  • Wow... That was crazy! People at my local store grabbing handfuls of things and dragging round huge bags of stuff! Even sneakily looking in people's baskets I could tell there wasn't much worth having! I think people just get carried away? Either that or they're planning to sell stuff on?
I got a couple of small bits for my dad's bday next week but the choice defo wasn't anything like last year!
