not sure I can be bothered heading into town but might have a mooch in my local little boots to see if there is anything in there ;)

    I've been Money Tipped!
I for the past few years have gone to meadowhall Sheffield but thought I would try and avoid the madness and try and shop online this year.... Has anyone been to meadowhall yet to update stock levels ?
Boots really need to sort out their website when this happens and I think they should keep more stock in their warehouses for online shoppers to be honest and to avoid the craziness in stores as I feel sorry for the people getting pushed and shoved and the sales staff.
They should also say the exact time it will be live like next etc do on sale days!

Why do boots prefer stampedes and broken items and ripped boxes than online sales?!?!

Any update on meadowhall out of curiosity?
    2013 wins...angry birds knex.
  • Just under 100 queuing at Boots Broadmead. It was quite civilised but was dominated by about 5 people who cleared the shelves then sat around the shop with their 5 big bags full of loot sorting through it to see if they got what they actually wanted...

That's what really annoys me = when people just throw things into the trolley to sort in a corner. I saw someone with a trolley absolutely loaded to the top, sorting the stuff she actually wanted into another trolley.
  • Edinburgh Fort was fine again this year. Arrived at 8.25 and there was a queue of about 30. Took people in front so long to get trolleys that I ended up in front of a lot of them. There were a lot of bigger Sanctuary sets and generally a good selection. A few of the usual rude folk with trolleys but manageable overall. Spent £77 and got lots of smaller sets which we use for dancing teachers etc, gadget tools for stocking fillers and a nice set of Animal headphones. I had to take my daughter who is 4 as nursery isn't until this afternoon. No one pushed or bumped her around and she was delighted to get the wooden spoon craft set for £3.60 and the giant games cracker for next year. Will make the spoons today!

Was very worthwhile going. It's always fascinating watching the folk who spend £300+! We left at 9 and there was still a lot left, unlike previous years.
  • Just back from Leamington - as of about half an hour ago lots of Sanctuary, S&G, 17 makeup sets, perfume sets (Beyonce, Kate Moss, Beckham, etc). Virtually no foodie stuff though.
  • I don't know about everyone else, but some of these items from £10 down to £3 are still making me think 'Is it really worth that much??' - haha

    Call me old-fashioned...

Gosh, Swansea Quadrant was worse than I remember, especially the organised groups :shocked:

Nice orderly queue of 100 plus, but one woman did roll under the shutter and it was a stampede up the escalators!

Mostly got what I went for - but as I wasn't aiming for any S&G or the big Champneys bag etc, that was OK.

I've never seen shelf fittings broken off the stand before - shelf ripped onto the floor and contents scooped into a sports direct bag. Classy :silenced:

    Leamington Parade?

I walked past just now (didn't go in) and I could see loads of women walking round laden with Boots bags. Unfortunately Parade store had ran out of what I wanted, as did Stratford Maybird, didn't check Shires though but it opens to late for me I need to be in work for 9am and Shires opens at 9am with traffic I wouldn't get into work until 10am!

Hope you got what you wanted :)

  • I ordered online at 8am.
    Managed to spend £27
    Got the following,
    Starbucks Candy Cane Mug
    Hairy Bikers Pepper Mill
    Guinness Pie Set
    Lavendon Manor Cheese Tool Set
    Wallet Spanner Gadget
    Dual Arcadie iPhone Gaming Dock
    Grow your Own Herbs

None of the beauty bits I selected would actually go in the basket which is a shame.

I did log on at 4.30am when hubby went to work, but the website was down.

No 70% off sale in Bourne when I went in first thing. Rang when I got back asking when the sale started and they said they hadn't been told. Went back to bed and rang again about 1pm and asked when their 70% sale was on. She said its on now and it's 75%. I got there and there was only a few bits left. I was livid. And it was 70%. The staff know their product less than we do!
