I've been waiting for a couple of weeks for them to send out my order to me (I'm exchanging smaller nappies for bigger ones). There is no sign of them, I think they have just forgotten. But they are nearly impossible to get hold of on the phone.
We used him to get the initial set, sadly he is as disorganised as he looks in the Market, but he tends to get there eventually!G/C Mar 2014 - £18.50 / £350 NSD 0/290 -
They guy is the partner of the lady who set it up but they had a baby recently so I suspect he's doing two jobs at the moment. He did drop round liners when I was desperate so they've redeemed themselves in my eyes!Stercus accidit0

i agree george he does get there in the end and they are nice enough people (even chucked in some free pem prefolds as by the time they sorted my order Annabelle was here lol). Advisors may not have stock like them, but we tend to always get what u want and get it right lol
I know this section of the forum isnt the most active but there does seem to be quite a few clothies
Will have to try contacting craigavon and armagh council about perhaps a monthly nappaccino if they will help out with promoting it. Mind u saying that they r both a bit pants as it is with real nappies, i dont get it, they take up about 4% of landfill so why not cut them down to reduce their costs like they are always banging on about having to do! 0 -

I love using real nappies on my daughter and actually looked into doing something similar here in NI but found it difficult to get any info......from anywhere!
My daughter is now needing the next size up as she is 18mths but im too scared to order off the internet because of getting the sizing wrong ect-it was easy in the beginning coz she was so tiny, lol, but now im in love with real nappies and would love to try a selection to see what suits us best but the cost involved would be huge!
I would really love to attend a nappachino,im just a few miles outside Bangor!
Also i did manage to contact who i presume is blooming bottoms, cant remember, but they wanted to call out to my house and to be honnest i would feel very pressured to buy then-even if there is no real pressure,id still do it!-and i cant afford to make a mistake with them!
I look forward to keeping up with this topic to see where it goes because NI is seriously lacking in theis department!

It's a shame that there isn't more info on this type of service available within the Hospitals or from Health Visitors. (We were looked at like we had two heads when we suggested using re-usable nappies) We were really keen to use re-usable nappies on our little one (Born back in December) Unfortunatly when I looked into it there were an abundant of sites where you could buy the nappies etc.. but as we don't have a tumble dryer and not a lot of drying space in our house, it was completely impractical for us to go that route. (Not enough space to be hanging out 30 odd nappies to dry) It would have been great to have a full service available, but at the time I couldn't find one. We ended up going the Disposable route and (Ashamed as I am to say it) I don't feel I could be bothered to change now as our little one's now 6 1/2 months & is at a childminders during the week.
There really doesn't seem to be much of an incentive for parents to use re-usable nappies (Apart from the obvious environmetal reasons) If you're washing them yourself, by the time you factor in washing powder, electric running a washing machine & tumble dryer, Time (Time is Money as they say in busines) I can't see it being cheaper (I think anyway) Maybe they should bring in something like Laundry Vouchers for Parents which can be redeemed at the loacl laundrette's for Nappy Service Washes. Might entise more people to use them. Also I'm led to believe that some creche's are not keen on using Re-usable nappies and tend to get a bit (Pardon the pun) "sh1ty" about them.Live, Love & Laugh A Lot!0 -

I would strongly disagree about the cost issue, particularly if you have more than one child. I used cloth because of the landfill considerations but the financial savings have been an unexpected side benefit particulary when I had a second child. As for the time thing - well, it's a personal choice. I find it very pleasant to hang the nappies on the line on a nice day (and I bung them in the tumble drier on a bad day - using lecky from renewable sources of course!)Stercus accidit0 -
Colin - i agree at the lack of info. But money wise it works out much cheaper. Even using the most pricey nappies they still work out cheaper than reuseables (including the cost to use the washing machine and washing powder). Time wise, this isnt a time when we wqash by hand and use mangles, we throw them in the machine and press start lol. Space wise all I use is a clothes airer as i dont use(and wouldnt use, not just environment but money!) a tumble dryer.
Your right some creshes can get a bit arsey about them but at the end of the day, its your child and just as they cant dictate what clothes you send them in, they cant tell you what nappies to put on. If you provide the stuff needed (nappy bin etc) for them to do the job then i believe they pretty much have to stick to your wishes. But on the other hand, in England quite a number of creshes are changing over to reuseables as its saving them money not having to buy dispos all the time. If i recall one that a girl i know sold to had their money back in something stupid like 4 - 5 months which is great for them!:)
Oh and should you ever feel like you want to change, give us a shout and ill happily show you some pretty nappies
