    Hi Folks,

LMEL: Bertie is very well! He's just crawled a couple of steps in his cot
Hope your little one is well too!

Colin: I know what you're talking about, it is very hard to consider using reusable nappies when you lack drying space or a tumble dryer. We invested in a tumble dryer for our baby anyhow (an A rated energy efficient one) as I knew we'd be doing loads of washing. You can get quick dry nappies like the Tots Bots Fluffles.
You do save money using resuables though as you can use them on more than one child and best of all... cloth nappied babies tend to toilet train earlier so you don't wind up buying nappies for several years (a friend of mine has just toilet trained her daughter at 18 months).
It's strange you say that a lot of creches won't take babies in resuables, because when I was researching creches for my wee boy all three I contacted (Wee Care, the Mulberry Bush and Childsplay) were happy to take babies in cloth nappies and didn't bat an eyelid.
I do think Belfast City Council need to supply some form of incentive though.
    Cheers,
    BatCat

awww how cute at crawling - Annabelle is nowhere near ready to start, she is too lazy. She wont even roll over much even though she can when she needs to reach something lol

I've washed and often tumble dried nappies for nearly a year now, and even taking this into account, it has definitely been cheaper than buying disposables.

A few months back, my MIL kept landing round with packets of 'real' nappies for me (i.e. disposables, the 'real' bit was her words) because she thought that the reason I was using washable ones was because we couldn't afford to buy nappies. I can't get it into her head that whilst the cost saving is a bonus, there is a lot more to it than that. She looks after her one day a week and as soon as I leave for work, she takes my nappy off her and puts her into a disposable. It makes my blood boil.

cor blimey, that would do my nut in! im the same, sure i can afford to buy plastic nappies, id just rather not thanks :) i enjoy cloth and have better things to spend my money on lol.

oh and editing to say i dunno if anyone is in the portadownish area and is interested in looking at some nappies, but if u r, im going to be bringing my nappies along to a car boot sale tomorrow(not to sell lol, just so people can have a look and a feel to try and convert a few more babies bums to cloth) so if anyone wants to have a look at a few different types of nappies, just shout and ill post what boot sale ill be at later (need to check the paper to see where they r still lol)
