In bios, I don't have a 'power saving settings' option, just a 'power management setup'. Within this are lots of other settings eg
acpi function - enabled, acpi suspend type - S3sir(?), power management option - user define, suspend mode - disable, hdd power down - disable, video off option - suspend/off, video off method - v/h sync & blank, modem use irq - 3, run vga bios if s3 resume - auto, ac loss auto restart - former sts, delay propr to thermal - 16 mins......and one or two more that I forgot to write down!! Do I need to adjust any of these settings in your opinion?? Thanks0 -
might sound stupid, but i once had the same problem. It would hibernate and it didn't matter what i pressed the screen stayed black. turned out i just had to press the power button very quickly and the screen came back again lol, before that i was rebooting it like the op!Fr. No, it doesn't sound stupid! Did the rest of the pc come to life with a mouse wiggle and just the monitor need special care?? I have tried doing little presses of the power button before going for the full hold down, but that doesn't seem to work. Thanks though, next time it happens, I will try that again just in case.0

no, the mouse and the keys had no effect whatsoever, i tried everything before i went for the power button (originally to turn the thing off!) but my finger skipped over it instead of holding it down and the screen came back!
sounds like you've already tried it though:(
copy and paste job i'm afraid, but these people also have the same problem:
