    Morning all.
Youngest is going to be late this morning I think - he's still in bathroom and we usually leave at 8.
I feel strangely calm about it though - just drinking my coffee and waiting for him to be ready for the Taxi (aka Mum!)
Dog walking, Hoovering, washing and ironing to do then might have another attempt at learning to crochet - so far all I've produced is a large knot, and I'm considering taking up my knitting needles again instead!
Jackie you seem to pack so much interesting stuff into your week (as well as being rushed off your feet):)
Wishing you all a safe and peaceful day x

    Morning everyone

Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x

Getting light here now, looks quite bright but forecast is for rain later, doesn't look like we've had a frost but everywhere very wet underfoot so we've probably had some rain during the night.

DH up and gone to work.

Dinner last night was salad, stuffed jacket potatoes, ham, and pasta salad. HM xmas pud and custard/brandy sauce for dessert. Tonight we're having smoked sausage pasta with creme fraiche sauce.

Had a lovely weekend, although journey to the site on Friday was the worst we've ever had, had several hold ups due to someone braking down in the outside lane on M25 on the approach to the Dartford Crossing - all the traffice was stacked up and crawling along - we get to where it looks like the hold up is and they then get the vehicle off on to the hard shoulder and the traffice starts flowing properly! Then had roadworks etc on the route after exiting the M25 to get to the site - it all added an extra one and half hours on to the journey - but we got there in 1 piece and it didn't really matter other than we had planned to have a quick trip out once we'd set up on site but it was too late by the time we'd got set up. We walked down to station and bought train tickets for Saturday and bought a cake from the cake shop, then we just chilled and had a nice dinner and wine. Saturday we were up early, showered, dressed and had brekkie and was on the train for just after 8.30am - train journey was very straightforward with no hold ups - and we were in Marble Arch for just after 9am so went for a coffee before heading to the hotel where DH has his meeting. Meet friends wives' there, men went to their meeting, we headed to Oxford Street, had lunch in a lovely pub and loads of retail therapy then headed to Harrods - 1 of the other lady's wanted to go and I've never been so that was an experience - it was packed though. We went back and met the men, headed to another pub had a couple of drinks and a chat then we caught our train respective trains back to home/site. All very nice and chilled weekend - legs and feet ached yesterday as walked for 5 hours on Saturday.

Now going to just head to the next town as have a couple of shops I want to visit and they are closest, don't want to be too long as otherwise my week off will be over and I'll won't have achieved anything.

    Keep safe and well x

    Morning all,

Been raining here all night but stopped now, must get OH into the loft to see if the water is still coming in.

Day off today will have a quick wizz through this morning then back to do another coat on the wardrobes, looks like they will need 3 or 4 coats so will keep going. I have ordered some paint for the doors which I need to collect in a few days, then the whole process starts again !

Going to drop dd at work this morning, will put a wash on then crack on with downstairs.

Pork chops for dinner with a spicy sauce, rice and peas.

Sistercas good luck to your dd and all others doing exams.

    Have good days all xx

    Good morning everybody,

Feels a bit chilly but not frosty like yesterday.I need to do some food shopping today- a busy weekend involving house viewers, grandchildren and DGD staying overnight, football match & much dogwalking meant we just ran out of time to do the supermarket.DH treated me to a late Sunday lunch at our local Italian,3 courses for £ 9.99 because I've not had much time to myself last week with the tidying for house viewers which was really nice.

I cant see Sats viewers buying, they have sold theirs and are living with parents but they were very straight with us and said they only just started looking and ideally would like to save more deposit up.Still it makes me keep on top of the housework, and DH and DS1 a bit tidier when they know there are people coming round :D

Chicken for tea tonight.Right better go and put my wellies on ready to take pooch out.Hope the BD is kept at bay for those of you troubled x

Well, the start of another week has rolled around.

I've got my normal housework today, plus a pile of ironing. In the interests of frugality, I waited until I had a full load of washing, and dried it on clothes horses last night, so that I wasn't tempted to use the tumble drier.

I'm planning a mega batch cook for tomorrow. If I'm cooking something I often do double and freeze half, but I've never done a huge batch cook before, so that should be interesting.

Gotta get going, it's nice out, so I can walk down to the post office with the eBay parcels

    Have a good day

    Morning all,

A quick post today as I have blurred vision back again.

Today will be spent doing a huge pile of ironing while listening to laura ingalls wilder audiobooks. Also, need to change bedding and do a general tidy up.

Dinner is leftovers from yesterday so nice and easy.

Goldiegirl, i will be interested in hearing how you find doing batch cooking. This is something i am thinking of trying.

    Hugs to those feeling low.

    Take care all

    Morning all,

I'm home alone this morning. Managed to get myself downstairs and made some juice and a toast, balanced them on my crutches:D
Dh has a full day at work, I can see he is busy and stressed but I just can't do anything other than try and get better quickly. I can see jobs needing doing but can't do them, very frustrating.
Ds3 is home at lunch. He has a politics exam this morning. Fingers crossed for all those this with exams this week.
Dd will make tea tonight, spag Bol, I'm not used to others looking after me, feels very odd.
    Have a good Monday x

    Morning All,
Very pleased with myself today. I had DD, SIL and DGC over for Sunday Lunch yesterday. It was the first roast dinner I had cooked since last June!:T
Roast Pork all the trimmings, and apple and rhubarb crumble for dessert.
I am feeling really good at the moment, long may it continue.:T

Watching Sherlock at the moment, very weird!
Not sure what to have for dinner today, I'll find something!

    Have a good day.

    Hi everyone,

Julie, don't try to do too much, it doesn't pay in the long run.

I see Alexandra Bastedo has died, I used to love The Champions (dating me much) and she was one of DH's first crushes.

I've got to take DS' girlfriends' cat to the vet this morning, hopefully there won't be much wrong. She has also asked us to look after it for a week while they are away. She told me it's grandparent rehearsal, if anything happens to the cat they won't be trusting any children to me. She was joking, I think, although she does dote on the cat.

DH spent the weekend painting the hall - the perils of being a perfectionist. I'd just asked him to touch up the grubby bits on the walls but when he started to paint he decided to do the whole of the walls, then decided the ceiling was looking grubby so did that and then the woodwork was suffering by comparison so that was done. He's set to do the kitchen next, again I'd just asked for a touch up, but I know what's in store now.

I'd better go I've some errands to run before I go to get the cat.

Not a happy burrefry, woken up at 6.15am by a sms message from DD's dentist, they really are a PITA!

Then at 8am much banging from next door, their flat roof is being repaired, it would have been nice if they had told us, we have always let them know if we have any work being done, I won't bother again

One load of washing done and on the line and another in the machine.

Dinner tonight is spag bol, I am making a huge batch in the stock pot that will save a bit on electricity. I will do the same with a stew tomorrow and savoury mince on Wednesday.

Machine has just finished so I had better go and put it on the line.
