Some people are bonkers. I've been told I'm lucky that I get widowed parents allowance - because a lot of men don't pay maintenance for their children

    Whaaaaaaaat...
I'm not a vicious person in any shape or form yet I know I would have seriously had to keep myself from giving that person a right gobfull.. Oh & a face slap (mentally)!!

  • Bossy thanks for the roller tip. I have a vague recollection of late OH saying something similar. Blooming gravity! There are drips. GAH!

BTW was it the arguments comment? People do 'forget' that OH passed away and if they do remember I get the classic 'You must be over it by now' by some. My dad said that to me the other week. And he wonders why he's on his 3rd marriage with that sensitivity!

I did remove all my pictures and references to late OH when he died as he's family made me feel that I wasn't entitled to grieve, therefore I removed them to make it one less for them to have a go at me for. (They weren't FB friends but I *think* they had a spy who was). So it's only people who we used to work with and some family that remember. Plus we weren't married so maybe some people just consider it a really bad break up?

I stand corrected, Valli. (I didn't know they were also known as Wooly Bears.) Don't panic Bossy. I went absolutely mad when I saw one moth fly out of the wardrobe and researched the subject for hours, bought evil chemicals and sticky sexie-pads to attract all the males to their doom and ... nothing. Not a wing since. One is not an infestation.
    Better is good enough.

Yes it was the arguments comment. But I kept my idle thumbs to myself ;)

Gah. Carpet beetles? Moth larvae? I'll have another hunt through the blankets (might take them outside tomorrow and inspect) yuck I'll be dreaming about them tonight.

At least I know they are not in DD room. I emptied and hoovered out the blanket box and it was clean and empty when I put her teddies in it. And if it came from the pillows in the top of the cupboard, well that was emptied, hoovered and wiped out too before painting.

So whatever the critter(s) is(are) they are in the spare room. Except one. Which *cough* got flushed down the loo :o

Unfortunately as it's a larva there is likely to be more than one...
    *shudder*

Definitely a woolly bear Bossy (sorry)

Get some cedar balls (wilkos and lakeland sell 'em) they are more pleasant than mothballs (which wilko also sell but they reek. And are not good for the Bossybabes to be around.

I really, really ought NOT to be storing blankets - woollen ones at that - in a blanket box in my attic, actually.

Given they haven't been used for years they ought to go.

Ah ok, having looked at all your lovely suggestions, and finding images, it looked more like HBs carpet beetle.

The clothes moth larvae pictures show white larvae, longer and thinner than this was. And it wasn't nearly as wooly as the bear :rotfl:

Will now spend some time researching what is to be done, and no doubt scratching myself raw for the rest of the night :(

    Ironing marathon completed

Bossy good luck with the bugs, my Mum had some once and they ate the carpet behind and under a CofD completely bare.

Just going to polish the shoes and then set the teasmaid an head up to bed.

Its a carpet beetle larvae . I get them here sometimes thanks to next door being so run down  I just squish them or throw them out the window :D

Well to day has been relatively productive :j Both beds are changed and made, DD had a good scrub bath, I got all the washing up done (just the tea ones to do when I'm done on here) and this evening I did all the ironing while watching the snooker :j

When the Mr A delivery arrived, I decided to make all of DDs packed lunches up for the rest of this half term :D All that needs adding is fresh fruit & sandwiches, and I've labelled them as some have extra in for the days when she has choir practice so is home over an hour later ;) I was then really [STRIKE]sad[/STRIKE] organised and each weeks worth have been folded over and 'sealed' with a different coloured paper-clip, this week we have black ones, next are yellow, then the week after that they're green then blue :o I whacked the two weeks we need last into a box and shoved them on top of the kitchen cupboards, next weeks are in a basket also on top of the cupboard, this weeks are on the shelf ready to go. I also have enough bottles of water to last her until they break up in theory. I'll get a delivery during half-term and do the same again as I don't have to nag DD to do it then ;) Its also meant that DD's Christmas treats boxes have been reduced from 3 to 1 :rotfl::rotfl:

Tomorrow I'm hoping to go out for a good long walk to the shops, only a 7mile round trip :D Hoping if I set out early enough I can get everything done and dusted, and maybe even go up to M@talan again (another 3 mile round trip) as I received a £5 off a £30 spend voucher from them :D

Plan for before bed, write my uncles birthday card so I can get that posted on time this year, sort out the DVD return, put the ironing board away, tidy up the spare hangers etc, wash up, stuff out for the morning, put the WM on while I go for a bath, washing on the maiden, bed. ;) Well thats the theory. I also want to try and get one of my programmes watched, but whether that happens or not is another matter.
