I have a happy 3yo. She said her room is beautiful
Awww, makes all the hard work worth while doesnt it?
Sooo, I am not very good at this flying stuff. I have realised that I start with good intentions - then once the house starts to look better I think "oh the house looks nice, now I dont need to bother". For me its really important I keep doing a bit every day and keep on top of it otherwise it slides back into chaos again very quickly and I give up.
Anyhow, I am determined to keep going this time! Have gently pottered all day today, tidying bits, polishing shoes, doing a bit of dusting and hoovering and tackling the never ending laundry mountain. In fact I have given in today and use the drier, lucky people who have had decent weather - its been rubbish here again.
Right, I need to go and chivvy DS2 along - he probably has homework unfinished!0 -
Not terribly productive afternoon after whizzy morning. Dusted lounge and helped kids tidy room. Dished uo tea which they refused and have bathed both n just done the ironing.
Will do lunchboxes after call the midwife I think.
Need to snap outta this black cloud which seems ever present qt mo.
Opto: people dont think. One woman once told me how lucky I had been to have a premature baby so I coukd leave it in hospital and enjoy some sleep ... the mind boggles. Not the same but I know how u feel. Hugs x0 -

In the olden days (like when I was born) the new mums stayed in hospital or in the maternity home for a couple of weeks (I think that's what my mum said) - so feeding would be well established, mum would be guaranteed some bed rest...
mind you I know of one new mum who had to have the baby removed from the side of the bed (because he was crying) while she blissfully slept on - then the nurses had to come back in AND WAKE [STRIKE]ME[/STRIKE] HER UP to feed the poor mite:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::cool:Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Valli - I have a friend who would love to meet you. She was told my a shocked maternity nurse that they'd never met anyone who slept through their baby crying. Problem was soon solved, as said friend used to be woken by the dog if the baby was making enough noise to bother him...0

Have made a major error. I have sanded and glossed the shelving unit in the bathroom but brought one coat not non-drip. The shelving unit is 5ft by 2ft. I *think* I've wiped the drips but I have an awful feeling that the drips may breed overnight and in the cold light of day tomorrow there will be loads of tear drops. My face may actually have loads of tear drops too.
Deco, when painting windowsills or shelving in gloss / satinwood etc I tend to lather it on with a brush in my right hand and go over it with one of those tiny radiator rollers you can get - with a foam cover on, in my left. Gives a very slight textured finish so not completely smooth but does make it nice and even across the length of it. I realise I could have mentioned that soonerCrowdpleaser wrote: »Opto: people dont think. Some people are bonkers. I've been told I'm lucky that I get widowed parents allowance - because a lot of men don't pay maintenance for their children
I was actually a little put out about a comment one of Deco's FB friends put on her status too this weekend (I didn't reply, Deco, because its none of my business X)
Gah.
Anyway. Anyone know what this is?
I found one. I think it was in the blanket box, because it was on the spare bed under the blankets where I left them after clearing out. Can't find any evidence of anymore (bed, blankets or box).
I'm itching all over :eek:Bossymoo

Love it, Valli! And Pigpen! It's amazing the FlyBabies survive, all things considered.
Sorry Bossy, I haven't a clue.
When my seven year old disabled neice died after an accident my boss said, 'It's probably a blessing in disguise.' If I hadn't been telling the boss over the phone, she'd have had her lights punched out. (David Cameron said recently that he wanted to punch people who said similar things about Ivan dying and I know exactly how he felt.)Better is good enough.0 -
It's a woolly bear!
