Hi, thanks for taking time to reply. I haven't bulk bought at the desk, I collect my click and collect orders from the store though, sometimes as in the recent toy sale there are a trolley full!
Here is the policy on the Tesco site -
We are happy for you to purchase as many items on our shelves as you wish. The only restrictions would be for baby milk, painkillers, mobile phones and limited stock items which are on promotion. This will be clearly advertised on the shelf edge label.
Can I place an order for a large amount of stock?
Yes, provided that the items are stocked in that store, we'll do our best to place an order for you. Please visit the Customer Service Desk to place an order and allow 5 days for the order to be delivered to the store for your collection. No deposit is required.
Maybe I should send a copy to the Manager!!0 -

On Tesco website it says that there is no limit to the number of an item that can be purchased instore unless it clearly states a limit on the shelf. It also says that bulk buy orders can be placed at Tesco Direct desk. Yet I have just been banned for the sale weekend by my local Tescohome as they have been 'watching me for a while and I am visiting the shop too often and specifically buying reduced items in bulk'! I am a member of this site and HUKD and occasionally will be lucky enough to find misprices or reduced items instore, eg: I recently bought 4 Thomas scooters and week later 6 Sofia dolls, and some of the reduced duvet sets. The Manager said he could ban me permanently if he chose for bulk buying. I have a very large extended family with lots of children under 12 so am constantly looking for toys to put away (not only as gifts from myself but from my elderly parents and my Brother who works away so I have to do his gift shopping too!). Its ridiculous as in the past two weeks I've also bought a £350 TV, a £40 microwave, a £60 bike, £50 worth of games, steam iron, various bits and bobs, and was actually planning on buying a £399 laptop! I think 70% of all items in my house are from Tesco from the lawnmower to the knives and forks! It's my favourite shop and the one I shop at the most via Direct and instore, I even have a Tesco mobile and tariff! It's literally 5 minutes away from me so will often pop in 2 or 3 times a week for a wander round. The staff often make snide remarks which I've never really understood until now, as there are no self scanners I've always put it down to asking them to price check things for me. I would describe myself as a very loyal customer and rarely shop anywhere else, yet I'm treated like some sort of criminal! Has anyone experienced anything similar, would it be worth contacting Head Office or would that just result in a permanent ban if it came back to the Manager?Hi, thanks for taking time to reply. Thing is, in addition to your bulk buying, which Tesco allow, you are actively using websites and bulk buying mispriced items.
That's why they are 'restricting' your visits. They are perfectly entitled to do this. You've drawn attention to yourself and your shopping habits; now you're paying the price, as it were.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I can't use the editing functions on my phone so can't bold the section but I think the relevant part of the policy would be where it quotes the restriction regarding "limited stock items which are on promotion."
The items in clearance would be classed as limited stock items on promotion.0 -

In other words - Dear MSE forum, I go into Tesco and bulk buy loads of miss-priced items, they have noticed and banned me, what can I do?
Seriously you've actually even started this thread without figuring people will be able to read between the lines and figure out what you were up to!0 -
Even before the ban I would have stopped shopping there.
I don't know why you would want to shop somewhere that the staff made snide remarks about you! That's not the shopping experience I am after! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Without casting any judgement, maybe there have been complaints from other shoppers who want to partake of the offers but find that the stock has sold out when they get there. Maybe it is just an attempt to be fairer all round and give others a chance to get the deals?35, semi retired, sun, sand, sea, life is good
